I did read it all! And it was technical enough that I didn't feel like a child but understandable enough to not shake my head and wander to the next post.
I hope puppy feels better soon.
Dood, you have a REAL talent for explaining tech. Call me envious, I usually get a glassy eyed, tongue hanging look when I explain tech. Thank you!
Hey everyone. Been watching this tread for awhile now and I am loving the discussions on here. I wanted to ask if anyone knows if the Verizon Nexus will get updates from Google or will they have to go through Verizon? Or is downloading the updates from Google a possibility too? Thanks!
Yeah, that's the one. Hated it, added WAY too much bulk to the phone and I couldn't stand what it did to my pockets. Put up with it for a month or two before giving up. When I took it off, I was shocked at how much thinner the phone was without, it was like discovering the phone all over again. Tossed the case somewhere, no idea where it is now, haha.
Very true. Should come in handy at work for me, I'm less worried about those days now... Just wondering about my heavy usage days filled with playing on my phone while comforting a pukey puppy (like I'm doing now)
Oh, well then. I'll just go somewhere else for relavent information.
Cool, I actually kind of like the second logo! Thanks for sharing. Our home office for the company I work for is located in Newark, NJ, which I get to visit a handful of times a year so..... Glassboro has to be better than that, right?
Will You Need Verizon’s Visual Voicemail App on Your Galaxy Nexus? Here You Go – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
VZW just released a visual voicemail app in the market yesterday. My silly school-girl optimism concludes that this means they're getting prepped for the SGN release since it doesn't include VVM![]()
Hmm, well perhaps I'll buy one as well! Only 10 bucks, and if it's worth the investment, it'd be a great value.Yeah, that thing was a real pile of rubbish! I had mine for about a week before I got sick of it and returned it to the Verizon store.
The good news is that this TPU case seems to be miles better both in texture and in bulk. Can't wait to see what it's like wrapped around a phone!
By the way, guys, I highly recommend this story, it's a great read. Learned a couple things about ICS I didn't know yet - for example, I knew that you could re-size widgets (which I'm SO excited for, can't wait to take up a whole screen with my Google Reader feed), and about the multi-task button, and individual notification dismissal, but did you know that the Nexus' browser will sync with your Chrome bookmarks? Very well-written and comprehensive piece overall.
Speaking of VVM... Is there a good free app for that outside of porting my number to google voice? I had one before but it was a pain in the but.
ah, poor pup! Did she just get shots? What kind of pup/how old? We recently got a standard poodle (our second), currently 13 weeks or so old. She just had some shots yesterday, was off her game, but fortunately not pukey! Hope your beastie starts feeling better soon!
Eh? I thought Google Voice was coming built in? Which is visual voicemail (among other things).
Have you tried digging any more today to see if anything new is in cyberspace?
Yeah methinks EM would make a great technical marketing personIt takes a certain kind of affinity for explaining technical stuff in a way non-technical people can understand. I know I fail at this miserably. I'm too technical and usually fail to properly explain something to my family/friends when they ask (e.g. what do I do at work heh).
Ugh. The girl in the office with a TV called us over. She loves Kathy Lee and Hoda. They have this incredibly irritating schtick where they have a family come on the show, and present a very touching story, like the kid saved them from a fire, or one of them donated a kidney to another one, or something like that.
Anyway, at the end of the segment, they have these crappy singers come on and sing a song that was written about their experience. Everyone cries.
So. freaking. corny.
The girl in the office is standing in front of the TV, with her arms crossed, and is occasionally wiping her eyes. She then turns to us and says "Wasn't that so beautiful?!"
We just roll our eyes and walk out, thankful for the distraction but sickened at the same time.
Found a link, that's a real nice looking case. Matte Back Smoke TPU Case & Screen Protector for Galaxy Nexus - $9.90 : TPU-CASES.COM, - All TPU Cases Shipped Free in the USA

I hope this phone doesn't release now, I'm gonna miss this thread.
Just kidding, I'm willing to sacrifice the fun here for a Nexus in hand. You'll all be missed. Until we hit the lounge, that is.
I'm tired. How's that for OT?
Nicely done! Thanks.LCD tech explanations with decent coverage of IPS
I hear ya! it is a very rare skill to have! I occasionally have to present stuff to management, thats the tricky part, getting the right mix of required tech without losing them.
Norcal Question
Norcal? I used to do field service with a sister company I used to work at in San Jose, just off of coleman avenue across from the airport. United Defense (now British Aerospace). We had our own test track there, perty cool! Lived in the valley for almost 2 years, love the bay area. My wife and I honeymooned out there, half moon bay, monterrey, calistoga, and the city. I used to go to java one conferences partly just to get back. I miss that place!
But it's not a Verizon visual voice mail app.
Tried finding the 360 degree flash movie earlier, no luck.
You don't have to "port" your number to use GV voicemail.
I use it with my VZW #
Oh, well then. I'll just go somewhere else for relavent information.
