Actually that's not the case. I returned a Rezound yesterday and I never had it on 'high performance' but had no trouble receiving 4G.

Apparently not. I spent a good 1-2 hours confused as hell two weekends ago as to why on earth I wasn't getting a 4G signal in the middle of Baltimore until I realized that I had changed modes. Now I just ignore that setting completely.

Did you have to turn LTE back on? I had it on High Performance, but I turned it to normal to see if it would help the battery. I did it while on wifi, so I didn't notice the lack of LTE till later.

I'm still able to get to LTE now while it's on the "Normal" setting, but when I switch from High Performance to Normal, it switches it off, and it must be turned on again.

Wasn't there a tweet yesterday (or the day before) about how those waiting for a long prerelease window on Verizon were going to be disappointed? For the life of me I can't find it now. If I'm not crazy and actually did see it, that would certainly fit with a preorder on the 8th and release on the 11th (Best Buy info). As far as it being a Sunday, maybe Verizon wants more people to get in store than online so that they can "offer" more accessories.

Then we'd have one less problem to deal with.

I am a longtime lurker who has finally decided to join.

Overall, I think Verizon's handling of this is an absolute disaster, but they are not completely insane. We will see the Nexus before Christmas, at least.

From the first day I had it I put in Normal mode thinking that would be better for battery life and I don't recall having to reset it to CDMA/LTE, but I guess I can't rule out having done that, I just don't recall it.

My 2 cents, I just pre- ordered a Razr for my wife last month and they didn't charge me at order. They did pre-authorize the amount at the time of order but actual charges were not submitted until the day it was shipped and I did receive an email telling me I was being charged then.

Oops you are right I didn't see that press release so disregard my earlier post. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to have a preorder time so close to a store release time so if we don't have preorder announcement by tomorrow my guess is not in stores by the 8th and preorders then.

Both are correct. The other power settings don't prevent you from using LTE. I was able to set it back to that manually while on "Normal". However, as woodraskam indicated, it will always switch you to "CDMA only" if you're already on high performance and chance power settings. It just ideally shouldn't require such an annoying multi-step process.
