Clearly you don't.

I'm from Long Island, I've never heard a true Long Islander say they live "in" Long Island, you live *on* Long Island ;).

Also extends to things such as waiting to get a phone, are you "in" a line, or "on" a line? If you're from Long Island, you're probably waiting "on" a line. Oh the fun of growing up on Long Island...glad I moved out!

I swear I am a born and bred Long Islander...I stand corrected for my incorrect grammar.:o I have lived ON Long Island for 63 (almost 64) years now, and have stood IN/ON many a line ON Long Island.:D

I live on Long Island and wait in line to buy something. My computer is online. I am going offline now so I can get in line for a coffee on long island.

I've never seen a line for ANY phone at my local Verizon store. I live in Long Island, NY.

There was a small line for the Original Droid here, 3-4 people. Incredible I got in the mail.

Thunderbolt had about a 10 person line, but I was only 15 minutes early to the store and I was first.

Mine too, I walked into the VZW store around the corner from my house and bought a 32 gb white iP4s at 8:00 PM on launch day. At this point I may wait for COSTCO to get the phone so I can get the free goodies...

I live in Green Bay, and I have yet to personally witness one of these "lines" everyone is speaking of.

I actually can't remember the last time I bought a phone in store. I alway order online or telesales.

I wouldn't discount the best buy info simply due to the date being a Sunday. The transformer prime preorder screen says 12/18 which is also a Sunday.

Energy drinks - in a professional capacity I call many of these products "stroke in a bottle". It's not the caffeine so much as the other "natural" ingredients that can increase bp. Just be careful.

So the big question for me is, stick with TMo, or move to Verizon? I can get the GNex either way. If it does come out on the 8th, I will have it in hand for my trip to the new house for closing (with time to return and terminate sans ETF), which is where I really need to test signal. I also want to test it for the surrounding areas. So I plan to get the GNex, have it and my TMo phone with me, and run some sort of monitoring on both as I drive from the airport through the various towns and to the house.

Have any of you done this? I would like to use the same app for both phones, so far I've found this one that supports CDMA and GSM. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.parizene.netmonitor Other suggestions are welcome.

I heard this suggestion on a podcast and just started using it. Seems pretty cool.

Open Signal Maps

I guess also availability at stores is all dependent on how many they get which would be a mystery. Preorder just seems like the safe way I guess.

Looking through press releases I see nothing for the Rezound. Is that because it wasn't considered a 'flag ship' device?

(rhetorical question) would VZW not make an official press release for the GNex?

There was an 11/3 press release for the Rezound

sneaky how the new rumor is saying the release is again pushed back to 2 weeks away! (although with some other hope inspiring news)

Seems like there is no consistency to press releases and actually release and/or preorders so truly is anyone's guess from today until the 15th. It is apparent though this time frame is all but confirmed (sans official announcement)

Maybe 5-10 people, but that's it, if that. This isn't the iphone after all.;)

I was at the store 30 mins before it opened when the thunderbolt was released. I remember after I got in there about 30 mins after there was like 3 more people that showed up. This year I think I'm going to a less popular but very good store as I know a guy there and no he doesnt give me any info lol

LOL! Too funny! My wife is from Long Island, and we constantly have discussions about our different ways to say things! (I'm from Texas originally.) For example, she will say "shut the light" or "close the light" (turn it off), while I'll say "catch the light." We have also had the very same conversation about waiting "in" vs. "on" a line...too funny!
