Everyone please hide your really off topic banter, like the football stuff and pictures, etc, in the hide tags are found under the "go advanced" setting. Then up at the top you'll see an "H". Those are the Hide tags.*

I'm going to start to ask the mods to edit posts from here on out of this kind of stuff, in order to neaten the place.*

Mods- this comes from Phases and I agree.

*notice I'm not saying you can't post off topic, but stuff like football scores and other things? Hide 'em. :)

Thank you!

I love you all.. you know that.

If you don't believe someone, that is fine. There isn't any reason to jump all over someone because they aren't willing to reveal everything they know or post pictures or their drivers license. Most of the people that do post are under an NDA and what they are doing could cost them their jobs or even get them a court date. So be nice and accept what people say or ignore it, but don't bash over it.

I was defending him/her. I tend to believe what he is saying.......

I'm not a big sports fan so all the talk about teams was sort of starting to bug me. Thanks for the PSA :D

open1your1eyes... I hope that you are as "inside" as you claim to be. Be honestly, dude... you come in AFTER things have pretty much been said all over the place and confirm what everyone else has already said (yesterday and today). The stuff that we don't know you won't comment on, like pre-sale. So, if you are legit... my sincerest apologies. But if you are not in the know, then please don't toy with people.

Well, as I did state before, I choose to keep my sources anonymous for variety of factors including the fact that many people question credibility and legitimacy. So like my original comment earlier in this thread: take this as you will and by no means should you consider this official until Verizon states it.

What is that "very minor bug"? That will completely demonstrate your legitimacy.

I'm sure you can understand if Verizon doesn't want to release that information to the public. :)

Why are you guys thanking him? Yesterday he said "before the 13th" and "final stages of testing"... today it is "testing is over" and "the 8th".

He is just regurgitating what everyone else is saying. Notice that he has not nor will not give any information about anything that we don't know. He is just one those great "gut" people.

I'll be honest, I'm not going to reply to a lot of such comments as I'm not here to prove my credibility (hence why I stated from the start take everything I say as you will) but just wanted to clarify something.

  • December 13th was an internal launch deadline that was set regardless of the outcome of final testing as they only involved minor bugs. Verizon wanted to have this phone out by then even if it required a patch update post release.
  • December 8th has been set as the tentative launch date ever since the initial bugs were ironed out and only after the minor bugs were discovered, it was decided that a few days delay should become a possibility in case they couldn't guarantee December 8th due to ongoing testing.
  • However, the results are now in and they have been deemed acceptable hence the original date of the 8th is now internally official. I am only here to report this info and not to say that this is publicly set.

I really want to point out however to not take anything I say as official. We all know nothing can ever be 100% until you hear it publicly from Verizon (and even then last minute changes are always possible). I am only stating what is the current status.

I really appreciate all the thanks so far and I will update you guys if I hear anything else related to launch and preorders.

I guess with the phone getting so close we may get an influx of new people checking out the thread, having a more streamlined thread would be helpful to those folks.

As streamlined as a thread with 57k+ posts and over 1000 new ones per day of course. ;)

It's amazing, really...

People here crave and clamor for more info all the time. The second we get something, be it questionable or not, people jump down the sources throat about how credible he is, become hostile, and demand even MORE info to prove his worth.

Folks, if you don't want to believe them, then don't. But it's stupid to become hostile to someone giving us info (real or not). How the hell do you expect anyone in the know to come in and give us anything when you treat people that do so like crap? It makes ME mad because you are ruining it for everybody else!

He came in. He was polite. He wasn't cryptic. He posted what he claimed he knew. If he does know anything that was really nice of him since he just risked his job to do so. If he doesn't and you chose not to believe him, well then that is your business and your right, but have some courtesy and don't call them out publicly in order to satisfy YOUR disbelief. I have to be honest, if I was working for Verizon and I had some type of knowledge, and I saw the way some of you treated that person, I'd take my news elsewhere or keep it to myself.

but the thanks they are getting may have been ill gotten!

good post, btw

My BS meter is surprisingly quiet regarding open1your1yes.

December 8, I believe, will be a day of joy and angst.

Joy at finally holding the over-ripe fetus in my hands. :)

Angst at having to manually thank 100 of NJ's posts. :(

Plus it won't be as easy since this thread will be closed... Will have to search out his posts to do it.

I just got done trolling the comments on VZW's Facebook page and I honestly think the word "nexus" appears at a much higher frequency on their page than our forums. There is a real demand for this device, and that's really exciting.

I thought that's what the op is for. Also, I thought the op warned of off topic banter.

Whether its legitimate first person info, or even if its not, the info your giving seems to be accurate so far, and is clearly intended to inform we Gnexers. Many people have done worse things for thanks around here, I have no issue giving you mine. Thanks.
