I made a stop at a local corporate VZW store today...just got back. I wanted more info on the contract they want signed (more on this, in another post.) I talked with the store manager, and when I asked about the Nexus, she feigned ignorance about its release...I got the same typical corporate doublespeak (not sure...yadda yadda.) Eventually I talked with the district manager, who happened to be in the store today. I took the approach that I *knew* the phone would be released next Thursday, and he opened up then! He was very forthcoming with details about the Nexus...Jackpot! He said the Samsung rep will be in their store, for the release of the Nexus, Thursday, 12/8/11, at 9am! (I have an appointment to go pick it up that morning already.) He said they're expecting their phones in, any day, and should have the literature soon. He played with a Nexus yesterday, and said it is definitely the wave of the future...well worth the wait. He was very familiar with it.

I'll put another post up, with info I found out about the unlimited data plans...kinda interesting I think.

I will have my dog hunt you down and jump on you while he is soaking wet if you are pulling our collective leg.

On another note, I am interested in the unlimited data info in light of the recent announcements.

Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense. In one tweet he'll agree with P3 that they have the same opinion of the release date (P3 is saying the 8th) and then in another tweet he'll say no chance it releases before the W/O 12/12. Not sure what to believe really.
 
Hopefully this phone is released in the US soon. Looks as though AT&T will be getting it sometime in the future, though I just imported mine. I feel bad for you guys, but keep your heads up, worst case scenario a few weeks to go, they said end of year and that is almost hear.

Hopefully the 8th or 12th or whatever new rumor is out there is correct for you guys.
 
As excited as I am to see the phone launch, I am really starting to get sick of rumor dates and speculations now (I had a tendency to love this maybe a few days before).
 
Probably somewhere along the lines of people will no longer be able to grandfather into unlimited after a certain day.. could be coming soon.

Gotta lock in asap before Verizon pulls a fast one.

LOL...I really don't have time for games, and frankly, get peeved when people do that. The manager did say that he didn't see them changing this date, as it seems pretty well set. That jives with what OpenYourEyes said, too. Too many things are now pointing to that date, from various sources.

I guess nothing is certain but death and taxes, but this is pretty close to happening, I think.

Haha, glad I'm getting such positive feedback for setting up a local bar meet thread. I'll definitely have to get in touch with mod's for opening up threads about this. Seems like a lot of us geeks will finally have to see some sunshine to meet each other and have some good beers upon release:)

P3 and Pyde are in disagreement and will be until the 8th arrives it seems. Someone on the twitters just asked them both who is right. They're both sticking to their guns with Pyde saying the 8th is preorder, and P3 saying the 8th is release. So in summary, no one freaking knows.

I don't know how credible BritishTurbo is, but he's been pretty sure 8th is the launch day for the last few days as well.

7 day ends 12/5 not that that means anything anymore...but if the 8th is the date then just maybe Verizon will throw us a bone.

Except..... That carrot is a self-imposed Forum Speculation carrot. Sources are information, not official Verizon statements.

All Verizon has said is by the end of the year. They still have 29 days.

I'd love for there to be another carrier I could use. I live in West B-F Egypt. T-Mobile and AT&T have NO service at my home. Sprint is almost as bad. I could us US Cellular. (ummmm dont think so)

I'll be mad at verizon when they miss their promised date.

Although, I do agree and would love to have that date.

Of note: he did say he was aware that VZW had pushed the date back at least once, that he was aware. I didn't ask him about pre-orders, as I plan on picking mine up.

Ok. lets play the game this way... I guess Corporate stores just get a box of phones shipped to them. There must be some advance notice I would guess. There probably told to STHU and wait for the release announcement. That would appear to be the case here. they know.
Now, authorized retail stores, who have to purchase the phones on there own, do they just get a box and get billed, or do they actually have to order them from VZW, in anticipation of a release date? The retail stores really seem outta the loop.
2 completly different animals, pluse phones are more expensive at the retail stores
