Now that this Nexus will have no sd slot, I wonder if the next one will do away with the USB port next and expect us to only transfer files via the cloud or by osmosis. By the next one after that, they may eliminate the screen completely and tell us we just need to concentrate and focus using our third eye to envision what we want to occur...

It'll just be a small obelisk with an LED notification light and a message that reads "There is no spoon."

I Wish I had 4G in my area... I wish I had a Galaxy Nexus even more though.

i know it was posted earlier, but i finally got a chance to run speedtest on my OG Droid as a reference.

got a whopping .24Mbps down, and .12Mbps up.

all i can say is wow. i can't wait for some 4G goodness.

For what it's worth, what my sister said was that the pre-order prompt was being sent out yesterday (which was proven today with the screenshot of said button). The last time this happened, with the RAZR, it was a week before pre-order began.

So, something will happen on the 8th, I'm just not sure what.

Could be release. Could be pre-order.

Han, please explain just what a "Pre-Order Prompt button" is and does?

I was told by my son who works tech support for VZ that he had a Galaxy Nexus button on his computer screen yesterday but that button had nothing to do with Pre Orders....it is a button that flags a customers account who asks about the nexus during a call so VZ can send them unsolicited Nexus information.

I am interested in your perspective on this button.

P.S. My son will be here around 5:30 and I will show him this Nexus button and see if it is the same one he has been using the last two days.

Its several years old. Haven't heard any new information come from it since its debut at TED 2009. Who knows where they're at with it now. Would be very interesting to see.
