***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

BTW I am @mattdonders -- the one that started that little fiasco between P3Droid and PydePepper over on Twitter.

So PydePepper seems to think the 15th and P3Droid and many people here are thinking the 8th. Figured I would just try to get some more info from them and that's what happened.

Any notion as to who is more credible and why? P3, Pyper, Britishturbo?

He came back monday or Tuesday. It was because his wife smacked his back to his senses and Steven sweet talked him. :D

LOLing hard. My wife just wants this phone to come out so I will visit the forums less...she has no idea how it will only increase! Plus, I just became a premium member and she knows that I will live out that recurring 6 month contract ;) I am not one to hold out for a better deal---looking at you professional athletes!

Give me the Nexus now Verizon!

It's not really far fetched to think a Samsung rep could have come to her store with a GNex. We have seen that multiple times so far. He/she may have let her play with it for a few minutes.

True. Just as reasonable as a CS rep who's been misinformed in some way or is passing along old information. And it was a call center rep. Not in store. Same difference really, but just a correction to your statement.

I (and I may be in the minority here) believe it better to take the rumors/speculation as just that-- rumors and speculation. Nothing wrong with the alternative, but I hate to see the bickering and whining when the optimistic assumptions don't come to pass. In many cases that is what transpires here. It gets just a little agitating after several months.

I can't stop myself from asking this.

Are people using voice recognition software (on their phones or computers) that doesn't recognize the different homophones, like

they're =/= their =/=there or

your =/= you're,

or do people not know the difference, or do they not care?

I know so many people who can't distinguish "its" from "it's". They just use whichever they like.

Hey guys, another image found on the VZW website. Not nearly as earth shattering as before, but here's the highest res picture yet:

By the way, this is what the HTTP headers contain:

This works out to 11:43 AM Central time zone, yesterday.

It's my turn to start a quickly disproved rumor.

I just got a call from a local Verizon store. My physical reaction was inappropriate for this forum. It was some sales-dude asking if I wanted to switch my home phone to Verizon. My physical reaction changed at that point. I politely listened and declined but had to get in my Nexus plug because it's the forum law.

He said he heard it was supposed to be released in mid-December but has been pushed back to January to boost the first quarter. After he dropped that he suggested I stop into the store, yadda, yadda.

Analysis: He believed what he said because he was pushing for me to stop in and if he thought the date was next week would have used that to get me in the store. I do not believe his information was accurate for two reasons:
  1. I don't want to believe it.
  2. He's just a local guy who probably has the same sources as we do.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm reporting this because I heard it not because I feel it's accurate.

Jives with what Steven's source said, but let's just hope this isn't updated info.

Hey guys I was originally in the same boat as you waiting for this phone but seeing as how my contract expired this week and still no confirmed date I went ahead and jumped ship to AT&T. I was previously on a family plan since I was 18 with my parents but now I finally have my own plan with my fiancee and picked up the Samsung Galaxy SII.

I still check this thread occasionally since I still want this phone to come out for all my verizon friends (I got like 10 people waiting on it that hadn't even heard of it previously).

I love the phone and the service is slightly faster as their is no LTE service where I live. I just can't wait for ICS to be ported to here.

Anyways good luck with the phone everyone, if it's anything like the SII you will love it. Soooooo much better then my rooted oc'd OG Droid. (Who knows I might pick up an international version in a few months, as this phone was free with a new contract)

I think a lot don't care. And a lot don't know the difference.

Most don't honestly know

MoPhoMan and Halon have been silent today.
Yes, I am somewhat able to retain who has and hasn't popped in

Come to think of it I don't remember seeing CaptainRon either. hmmmm

And isn't it about time for GalaxyNexus to start their daily thanking?

Been scanning /lurking, but too busy to take time to post.

Nice to know you missed me. :)

Samsung Droid Charge still $199 at Verizon? Wow that was a surprise.

I think that'll squash all $199 Galaxy Nexus Rumors lol. Single core 8 month old phone still $199.

Sometimes on the phone app it is just not worth the time to correct all of the misspelling.

I've found that it is a HUGE battery hog. Even if I'm not using it, when I have it installed my battery seems to get nailed. Haven't debugged why...
