So I rented a Razr for a few days and took it back this past week in anticipation for the Galaxy Nexus.

I've been on the phone with Verizon the past 3 days trying to get my upgrade eligibility back. Apparently since they no longer offer yearly upgrades once you use it, they can't just put it back into the system, and a manager approval upgrade will not work on 4g phones.

So I finally got a rep to make notations on my account to allow me to upgrade to the Nexus. How reliable are these notes, and can I call the local store and have them verify they are on there? I returned the phone early before the 14 days so I wouldn't have any problems upgrading to the nexus and having to fight with them about the holiday return. I can't even imagine what people are going to go through trying to get them to return a phone past the 14 days.

this is exactly why i am keeping my razr until GNex release day and then exchanging it. a return requires you to wait for your upgrade eligibility to be put back on your account, an exchange does not. ;)

I think the connection works with the 3-pin assembly. See 0:40 on the video to confirm that a "Micro USB to HDMI MHL" cable will plug into the back of the dock. Then you'll just need a "splitter" like this one (but for the Nexus) to allow for a charger and connection to TV. Of course worst case scenario, you could do the same thing without the dock.

they take up a very marginal amount of memory when disabled, but do not use any system resources. fully uninstalling them requires rooting. titanium backup makes it easy after that.

I had the exact same thing happen to me with the Bionic I bought upon its launch. They are correct they cannot re-add your upgrade back into the computer system, however, the note on your account is golden. Your good, but what I would do is double check and talk to CS and make sure your account is noted. You might have to do some "splainin" in the store, if that's where you go to get your new phone, but it shouldn't be an issue. Be prepared though and have your scenario laid out before you go.

It takes up space in storage yeah, but doesn't run in the background using up your ever so precious RAM :P

Sure you can eliminate it rooted.

If I was a single guy and had a friend I wazsn't sure if I wanted to be more than friends with I would like the red - I think the red shoes with the leopard print say "Grrrr....". It's a great look.

Hmm...I never thought about it like that. Hopefully the pin connection doesn't interfere with this..

I went to the Northlake Verizon. Not the one in the Mall, but the store in the Target complex by the mall.

I love the Northlake area. I moved here a year ago from Boston without ever visiting Charlotte and wanted to stay north for work. My commute roundtrip has decreased from 2.5 hours to a half hour.

U can by rooting but the Verizon apps are less than a MB so when you have 32 GB of storage space its not as important as say the Droid 1 that only had like 256 MB of app storeage

Ha! That's the store closest to me too. When I stopped by last Saturday, they told me that the Black Friday rush was so large they had to take down the door and surrounding windows to deal with the crowd.

Guess I was gullible enough to believe it. :o

I went to that location last week. I live in the university area so I usually go to the Concord Mills location or the one on Tryon just past Harris Blvd. The sales rep at that Northlake location is the one who told me it wouldn't be out until after the holidays. :mad:

They didn't give us the real scoop either. Our rep told us the Kool-Aid man jumped through it. :rolleyes:
