Good morning Nexicans - took the weekend off for the most part to salvage what I could of my IRL relationships that I've blown off following this launch. I see the phone is out in the wild, and we're still hoping for end of this week. Anything else major?

Oh, and of course this week I'm travelling down to NC for work and won't be home if this thing launches when we now expect it to. Of course.

Darling Bride has a medical appointment in the next town Friday morning that she will most assuredly expect me to attend with her. I have long had Thursday cleared off on my calendar just for Nexus.

Now I could cheat and pick up a Nexus at the Verizon store in said town on the way to the appointment, but that would also gip My Rep out of his/her commission for having called my cell phone with the release date. Being a (fairly) honorable guy, I wouldn't do that to him/her out of sheer principle.

Besides: sitting in the doctor's examining room with a new Nexus and unable to play with it would be worse than just waiting for it. Heck I'm USED to waiting :rolleyes:

Thanks for your sympathy! I know, Glassboro is a....well, the mods wouldn't be too pleased with me if I called it what it is, let's just say it's a dump. My grandparents live there unfortunately. Not the greatest place in the world.

Although deep down I am expecting something and will be dissappointed if I don't hear anything :(
 
OT (football):

So the Bears season is over. Hanie blows. He sucks. I don't know why they're even playing him. I don't know why they never thought going after McNabb was a possibility. They are too obdurate to change and win.

I hope Martz goes away in the off season. I hope he never comes back.

I know I shall get mildly flamed for this, but I would have rather had the SGN release on February 15 if it meant not having Cutler or Forte injured this season. :(

We have been programmed to expect the worst. BUT, this week we will turn our frowns into clowns. No wait... that should be turn our frowns upside down. Phew! Smiling is tough thanks to months of disappoint.:mad::)

I am fully expecting we will get SOMETHING official at some point this week. I am hoping full release, but pre-order and press release is IMO the lowest bar.

I was just kidding about Deliverance, what an awful movie.

No need to handbrake Walking Dead. Start with season 1 on netflix. Another taste of apocalypse in Ga.

I'm roughly 50/50 on the whole thing. Yes, we haven't had the dreaded leak of something happening two weeks from now. Nothing concrete says anything post 12/15ish. Yes, the phone has shown up in the flesh at the Samsung Experience.

But it's Verizon. They do what they want. I've had my hopes screwed way too many times to get them up to normal levels.

You know the saying, Once a cheater, always a cheater.

One movie we really enjoyed recently (I thought I wouldn't, because it's a "chick flick") was The Help. Southern movie about the dynamics between rich snobs and their black staff in the early 60's.

It was very good.

(I know there's a book, but I hadn't read it.)

Forte has been a huge part of my fantasy team this year. To have him go down right as the playoffs start is devastating. The good thing about fantasy is it really helps people sympathize with the fans of that team when their star gets hurt - I feel for ya.

Go Pats. Way to almost blow it against the mighty Colts.
