In fact, our convo was so long that a screenshot could not fit it all, as you had to use a scroll bar. (I still have the screen up in case I want to refer to it later).

I'll be staying up late tonight to see what Verizon puts in the place of that 7 day websale... if it's another websale or "My Account Analysis" I might actually go insane >_>

This ratio is actually making me a bit worried that there won't be any phones left by the time I get to the store. :eek:
 
TAKE THIS POST WITH A BAG OF SALT THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE

On Saturday I went into my local store to get a hotspot. I asked about the GNEX. The rep said "oh i just got an email about that', then proceeded to say she didnt read it but was very excited about it. I asked about a release date she then turned to her coworkers and another coworker jumped in with the standard response. Of not knowing anything.

I was at Best Buy yesterday asked another Rep about it. He said without hesitation the 8th. I asked if they will be getting stock on release day he didnt know anything about that. Then said "Ive seen the specs and they are complete junk the only thing good is ICS If you want a good phone get the Razr."

I never thought you were making it up. I did think that "Tiffany" was blowing smoke up your butt though.

But yes, you stand vindicated. Assuming Steven ever posts the thing. :p

Interesting how another alleged VZW store can look at the same data and say "Friday". Whatever.
 
I stopped by the local corporate store again this morning (this is the one I posted about on Friday, where I spoke to the District Manager, whom, after I nearly had a fist fight with the store manager about their contract policy, did tell me in no uncertain terms that the GN was scheduled for release this Thursday, and set up a 9am appointment for me to get mine.) Anyway, this morning the sales guy I spoke with first gave me the "we're not sure when it'll be released" line. However, when I told him I had spoken with the District Manager (called him by name) about the release, he opened up a lot, and advised they do have it scheduled for Thursday, although he said they haven't seen an ad for it yet, so he was a bit reserved in saying it was a definite. Odd how he changed his tune when I let him know I had more info on it - knowing that his boss's boss had already told me, I think helped him feel good about opening up.

However, I will also feel MUCH better once VZW makes it official, of course, and am not going to be placing too much hope in the release date until that happens.

By the time it took to write his second post. He could of edited and posted the conversion. Wonder why he would choose this method??

Yes people have said it has a new radio, but I've yet to hear anything about how it actually performs in the wild with LTE.

If it's anything like the radio in the Rezound... I was in my first 4G LTE area on Saturday, and was easily doing 36mbps download and 18mbps upload, no joke, and multiple times. Unreal!
 
Haven't posted in a few days. So I thought I'd come out of semi lurkdom and say hi. Fingers are crossed for some sort of big news from Big Red today and a release this week. Back to work for me I will probably pop in from time to time.
 
So far there seems to be a lot of conflicting information about whether it's the 8th or the 9th. It could be possible that it WILL release on the 8th officially and 9th is when the majority of stores should have it. I remember back when I bought my Droid Bionic there were a lot of stores than didn't have it on launch date but did the next day.

TLDR: Regardless of date 90% chance we are getting it by the end of this week.

I don't know how I missed that earlier, but that was the BEST Nexus-related video I have ever watched. Absolutely fantastic and co-workers from surrounding cubes were peeking over to see why I was laughing so hard. I love this OT thread. :D
