***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Ok. So I went into a corporate store yesterday to pick up a razr and the sales person remembered me from last week when I returned a rezound. She said "are you sure you want the razr? The nexus is about to be released, we just had a traing for it today". I asked some questions about when, and she didn't have any specific information but she did say before Christmas. Im sick of waiting, I will get the nexus when it comes out, and I hope a lot of people return their recently purchased phones in favor of the nexus.

Welcome to the roller coaster

Am I the only one who thought it was only going to be on display this weekend? Seems like the headline on one of the sites said this weekend specifically

So I have been studying all morning for my final in a few hours, what the heck did I miss? All I am seeing is people saying it isn't releasing this week? What happened?

Well according to Jimminy Cricket(whom has been on a covert mission across the US going to every possible verizon store to see if they have any nexus in the back) he has had no luck so far and will continue his long journey and hopefully know something within the next 3 months.

P.S. This is all to be taken with the most light hearted and stress reducing intents...:D

Part of me thinks Samsung jumped the gun by displaying the Nexus, but then again it seems like a foolish decision to make without knowing the repercussions.

So why take the phone down after only displaying it for a weekend?

The theory of it generating to much buzz is crazy, really! To much business in your store?

I have to think Verizon ok'd the decision knowing it was only for the weekend... I just don't get what Verizon's thinking is. :(

They probably took it down to temper internet rumors. How many blog articles came from it being there only for a weekend. VZW probably told them to remove it to cool down the Rumor Blogs, and it'd easier for Samsung to remove the entire display instead of showing a phone that they can't get now (GSM Version) and won't be available right away when the LTE version arrives.

Maybe because of verizon's exclusivity is why they took both down. i mean if verizon is supposed to be first one selling the nexus in the US and they had the gsm one there that could be against their exclusivity?

Maybe, but Verizon has already announced it, so the existance of the phone is not really a problem. Samsung wasn't selling the phone (and from all I know, it won't be ever), just displaying it. Plus google used the Verizon version in youtube videos. I still think it was disrupting business, and they saw a visible drop in sales or something telling them having the phones out was NOT helping business. Just my two cents mind you.

OK, I'm off to eat pizza for money for a market research company... and no phones allowed. If I start showing signs of thread withdrawal, I'm not sure I'll have a creative lie to tell them. If you have any suggestions, let me know, I'll check in one more time, before I go in the door.

Rational thinking?
In THIS thread?:confused::confused:

Sorry. Don't worry, won't happen again.

Nothing from verizon = doubting. There's nothing else for us to do so we are in a downward spiral for now. Check back after the final and we may be swinging up again. Although if there's no pic for Han of Nexus boxes when he gets back from lunch he said someone is getting punished and possibly already picked me. So I might not be around for the next twist and turn.

Plus supposedly there was a bunch of sites there taking videos and stuff and maybe samsung knew it would be best to take it down rather than let it up for more people to come and report on it.

Although I originally didn't really agree with it. The idea of "renting" a Rezound is beginning to sound like more of a reasonable plan. If Verizon wants to continue playing games I will play right back.

My comment was in response to the gsm being taken down also.

Tell them your guinea pig was acting wierd this morning and you're worried about Galactic.

You really missed nothing. Nothing of substance happened today. Just a lot more speculation, rumors, CSR chat logs, and a lot of "the sky is falling" going around due to a lack of an official announcement so far.

Just another typical day in Nexus land.

GSM version is available for purchase in the US from resellers. My buddy already has one. Also just because it isn't for sale by Samsung directly, doesn't explain why they pulled the GSM version.

No no. It's not available by any US *carrier*. And guess what? Neither is the LTE Nexus. That's the point.

I'm surprised they still talk to you after "almost getting in a fist fight" with the store manager. :p

LOL...well, I wanted to actually see a contract (before upgrading at some point) that they'd want me to sign when I do upgrade my phone. The store manager started talking with me, and she was so full of it, with typical corporate doublespeak - not only the contract but also the GN ("we have no info on when it releases, etc.") She said that the only way to see the contract is AFTER I do the upgrade, pay for the phone, etc etc. I hate being treated like a mindless sheep. We got into a heated discussion about contracts (it really wasn't about to come to blows though...lol.) I eventually told her I am a lawyer, discussed some basic contract law with her, and she got frustrated, handed me off to a guy, whom I think is supposed to handle "difficult" clients. :) That eventually led to me ask for the manager's manager, which is when I was able to speak with the district manager.

Sorry if posted already. Alleged pictures of VZW Galaxy Nexus retail packaging.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus retail box pics - xda-developers

i absolutely believe this because as we all know, VZW is definitely *cheap* with their box sizes, they try to be extremely *efficient* in making a box that just *barely* fits the phone and whatever else is needed in the box. Plus thats pretty impossible to photoshop, so these are definitely real.

I'm just surprised the outside of the box isn't gray/black/red with 35 1/2 Verizon logos on it.
