***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Given the hype around this phone and the post count of this thread, newcomers reading all this may be in for a disappointment when they find that their GNex, in fact, cannot end hunger and bring about world peace. Conversely, it may very well cause hunger what with the dehydration caused by people drooling over it and World War 3 when fights break out over shortages. And then, dear readers, you'll one day (if you survive the ensuing holocaust) be able to say "I remember where I was when the Galaxy Nexification began..." :D

CenturyLink, a new VZW authorized agent, will have the GNex available on December 11, 2011. (from telephone conversation with CL CSR & their supervisor)

Now I REALLY can't wait for the GNex release! My husband just HAD to update my Fascinate this morning, and he bricked it! GRR! So now I am on the OgDroid, which doesn't work worth a darn! He was on the phone with Verizon, and convinced them that it was a problem with the phone, so they are sending a "new" fascinate, which should be here tomorrow...so, I will have a new to me fascinate, for three days, and then hopefully have a Nexus! Then my "new" Fasc will be sold on ebay or something...at least I should be able to get a bit more out of a fairly new phone than my old one! Come on GNex!!!!

**If I already posted this story, sorry...I couldn't find it! I thought I posted it earlier, but might have forgotten to hit the "Post" button. **

**Yea, now that I am home from work, I found my other post. Sorry everyone!**

So in the past when Woz has gotten phones, hasn't he generally given some of his impressions? Aka in the past I swear he's make some comment like "It's a nice device but it won't replace my 2 iPhones"? Have we seen anything like that?

My horrendous luck continues! I just got a brand new Motoactv to replace my Nike sport watch, set it up last night, and woke up this morning to find it on the floor with a cracked screen. STUPID CATS!

I did get a temporary replacement phone from verizon this morning to stand in for my poor OG Droid. I have to confess I don't even know what this thing is.

So haven't stopped by for a few days now. I see many of you New Yorkers tried out the device at Samsung Experience store. What did you guys think?

Also I've been getting a few e-mails about these leaked box photos you guys have been sharing and just wanted to stop and clarify that this is not the complete Verizon retail packaging that you guys will get when you purchase your devices. These are unbranded boxes that have been sent out to various reviewers and testers. Also, one of my contacts was able to trace those specific photos to the demo units provided to the Samsung Experience store in NYC.

So just to reiterate, these are pre-release boxes. I hope this will clear things up for you guys. :)

Yup you did, a few of us commented on the fact that it's pretty much impossible to brick a Fascinate...

IIRC, back when the thunderbolt was released, someone had a pre or close to release model that came in a box that was almost the same as the pics we've seen of the nexus'. Just a plain white sleeve, with a red interior. I think that must be the default before the final packaging is printed.

Having a hard time finding pics.

Release still planned for the 8th/9th???

:::taps mic... is this thing on??:::

exactly what i have been saying since the pictures come out. droid-life, phandroid, a lot of people in this thread jumped to the conclusion that the unit photographed was in a store, but the original post on xda says nothing like that. in fact, it doesnt say anything other than they are being shipped to stores this week, meaning to me that those photos are from a warehouse and stores havent received them yet.
And just like that, we are back to square one..
Guess BB may not be safe from Han Solo afterall, eh?:p

I wonder if this photo is from one of Verizon's production/shipping facilities. I used to be an operations manager for a software company, and all final packaging was done on products as they were getting ready to ship. We also had stainless steel tables :D

That said, it would mean that the photo came from either a Verizon employee or a Verizon contractor. So, eh, maybe its a bad theory.

I got nothing.

I feel silly quoting myself but either someone is reading my posts carefully (I'm flattered) or I'm psychic.

Any word on the release of the phone? We still on for this week?

I just found out I got $50 loyalty discount from VZW but do you think the Nexus'll be cheaper on a website like LetsTalk.com? the Rezound and Razr are like $230 for upgrades there
