It is pathetic that after only 5 years of marriage that communication has broken down to this. Verizon see what you have reduced my marriage to...release the darn phone already!

Just talked to an online support and they said new releases are updated midnight before launch day... then when I mentioned the Galaxy Nexus she went on to say the whole "Later this year" bit.
Just saying, I wouldn't expect anything tonight. Perhaps tomorrow night?

If the source above is right about the 3:00AM web update for the nexus.. I think that's in 30 minutes (Assuming it's 3:00AM Eastern). If that's not it I'll try my luck tomorrow morning. Crossing my fingers and hoping we get an official page!

I am in the same situation as you, but luckily I have the money for this set aside, and can justify the expense because my OG Droid likes to misbehave, including times when it freezes up when I have an incoming phone call.
So I have to buy a Galaxy Nexus because I don't want to miss an offer because I can't answer my phone.

Even though Verizon is in New Jersey they go off of Central time.
Question: my account is under my dads name but I have all the info (soc and PIN on the account) when I go in for the upgrade, does he actually have to be there (I'm going to a corp store not my local reseller) I mean I'm 20 so I don't see why not but I'm just making sure

You have to be an account manager as you will be agreeing to another 2-year agreement. It can be setup online if you both have a my verizon account.
Yes you do, I have had this issue before as well. You either have to say that you are him and give them the info, or get your name added to the account. I had to do the same with my parents account. Call customer service and have your dad add you to the account.
Only if you are an authorized account user. Doesnt matter what info you have, only if you are "authorized" can you make any changes to the account (purchasing a phone would be a change). I found this out the hard way like 2 years ago when I went to go get my Eris. I had all the right info, but because I was still in my parents plan, they wouldnt let me do it without them being there. I think if your parents call they can add you, only takes a minute or two.
