I just called 4 of my local stores hoping one would hold a Nexus for me on Friday. 2 of them would give no info, the other 2 "unofficially" confirmed Friday, but said they are not allowed to hold any of them.

On a side note, it looks like I'm going to have to order over the phone anyway. Back when I upgraded to my OG, they gipped me out of my NE2 (which I didn't realize I was elligible for at the time). So I need to try and get them to give me that, which the guy at one of the stores said they wouldn't be able to do in-store. So if there's no pre-order and ends up being a soft release, I won't be able to get it on day 1.

Hmm... Is getting it day 1 worth paying the extra $50? Will have to consider that.

Id also enjoy being on that list to order with the VZW rep.

Im going full contract price so the amount of comission she will grab from this deal will be absurd.

should limit it to the first like 20 people so she doesn't die. So got my place in line! :-P
 
I just bought a ton of 10 cent apps that need a new home, where is Steven with the confirmation? That guy "works" at home, what is he doing reading macrumors at a time like this????

I spoke to Abbey myself and made it totally clear who I was and who we all were. She said a couple of things.

1) She is having the phone ordered and shipped out ON RELEASE day NOT BEFORE.
2) She does NOT want her information posted in any way. Do not even ask for it. I will ban anyone who violates this as Abbey will lose her job. I'm sorry to be so strong, but we must "do no harm." MUST.
3) According to Abbey the 9th is confirmed.
4) It was a corporate store, that I can affirm.

got a text from my buddy who is a VZW corporate store manager today. i asked if there was any truth to the soft launch and he replied with "it's true". he then set me up with an appointment to pick up my GNex on Thursday morning at 11AM (since that's my lunch break) to make certain that I get my hands on one launch day.

i have no reason to doubt him after everything he's helped me out with in the past in regards to phone launches. i guess i'll know at 11AM on Thursday! :D

Steven, I want to take this opportunity to thank you, Phases, OTD, Early Mon, all the other mods, guides and big contributors (BB, HanSolo, and everyone else I have missed) and of course the site owner Rob, for making this, in my humble opinion the hands down best Galaxy Nexus thread on the net! There really is no better place, and that is in no small part, due to your dedication to making this such a fun, special, and addicting place to share our craziness together. Thank you!!!!

Yes, I read Bag of Bones awhile back and don't remember a whole lot about it, but I do remember it was good.

I was more upset that Gil Hodges didnt get in,I am friends with his wife as well as a Mets fan and a Brooklyn boy at heart.
