Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Of course after a new card and partition I copied my stuff from the old to the new and after a reboot I had no Alps. No biggie just install titanium and restore them all. Well it kept force closing and the phone would reset. So after cussing and thinking about it I got this grand idea to just restore my backup from two days ago (idiot moment for sure LOL)

Anyway yep I got titanium. Superuser. Tether. A2sd. Screenshot. All the normal root chit. Not sure why it wont let me move stuff to /system/Apps???

Download this - ApkInstaller.zip

Open ApkInstaller.zip using 7zip and drag and drop your apk's you need to the system/app folder in the zip

Throw the zip on your sdcard and flash it in CWM and your done

Don't make a post asking for help if you try adding some random app that you downloaded from the market or some website and the app doesn't work

I haven't had any problems getting apps. to install but it's always good to have a backup plan . Thank you again .

Yep I'm stupid LOL. I clicked the root box and changed system to write PREVIOUSLY I ASSumed it was still that way but somehow it got changed back along the way somewhere and I never bothered to check that possibility

2.2 keyboard is now on my 2.3 I guess I had a blond moment. I prefer the older keyboard a bit more myself cause you can see the green dot on the caps lock.

Hi Bloodawn I was wondering something. Today I installed Carrier IQ Detector and it says that my device does have the Carrier IQ and I know it is supposed to be gone from here so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same or if its just a fluke.

theres one ciq file left on the phone but it doesn't do shit and it can't be removed cause its used by another file and the phone will bootloop if its removed

anything else that it detects is just text left in files that says ciq/iq/carrier iq

Hey Bloodawn,
I have a couple more questions about CTMod. I noticed it said in the op that System, Cache and Data are formatted to Ext4. Does that mean that our SD cards are automatically partitioned upon installing the ROM and if so what size is the partition? Just wondering bc I want to install a2sd and I don't wanna create a second partition. Thanks :)

In my experience with ctmod, it does NOT partition the sd card. It formats the partitions that are already there. To use a2sd with this phone, you need to install inigo's

As I understand it, a2sd requires and sd-ext partitition, which CWM will do for you... You will need it anway to install ctmod.

Take your time, and read the instructions, and review the other posts as well. Any issues that may come up will probably have already been addressed by other members. Good Luck!
 
I've been having some issues when trying to connect my phone to my car through Bluetooth. Just with 2.3 though. When I activate Bluetooth my phone gets caught in a restart loop. Not sure if I'm the only one that has seen this.

has anyone else had this problem?
 
i have the reverse effect. on 2.2 my bluetooth was always disconnecting and i couldnt hear other people, and they couldnt hear me.
on 2.3 its working perfectly.
 
I tested just to see if BT worked for me. I am able to connect to a headset and it works fine talking to anyone also able to connect to another phone via BT and it works fine sending a pic and connect to PC via BT and send a pic. So, BT seems to work perfectly fine for me.
 
Just wanted to say that CTmod has made my phone all I could ask for- unless someone figures out how to install a new camera. Big thanks to Bloodawn (and of course the others who make all this happen).
 
Only one thing i would change/add audio boost, not as much as CM7 but an option to do so find it hard to hear things. other then that running smooth simply amazing
 
Is there anyway to safely pull a PRL update on CTMOD? If I remember correctly it doesn't work on modded clients. I believe with exception of Shabbymod it's never really worked. I'm not truly sure I don't want to try without getting some feedback.

Has anyone does this successfully on CTMOD? Did you notice a significant change? Lately my signal has dropped when I used to be getting great reception in my house.

I ran a prl update on 2.1 just for shits and giggles. Worked fine but haven't really paid attention to reception in my usual haunts but now that I'm on the topic I am noticing about three more bars of reception here at my desk at work.

Just ran a couple quick speed tests too and seeing a pretty significant improvement there as well...

I actually bought the most recent version of this from the market but was never able to get it to amp the volume sufficiently. The attached version, however, works fantastic and at level 8 is almost too loud and I have to crank it back.

Also a shout out to BloodDawn for his ROM that has transformed my phone from a 90 pound weakling I almost tossed to my daily workhorse phone.
