Off Topic:

I haven't gotten to that one yet, but it's on my list. Stephen King is my all-time favorite author. I'm sometimes (not often) disappointed in the endings, but it never detracts from the story for me. I like most of his endings, though. His older stuff is my favorite, but a few of his newer ones have been better than expected (Bag of Bones, From a Buick 8, Duma Key).

Haven't read the new King, but I just finished Neal Stephenson's REAMDE: A Novel. I'd recommend it. If you've read any of Stephenson's work, this is more like Snowcrash (great) than Quicksilver (boring to the point I couldn't finish).

Ugh. Like I've said before, either Verizon is filled with morons who can't punctuate or know how to use capital letters appropriately, or the trolls are of lesser caliber then yesteryear.

Two thoughts on getting the phone, Go to the store Thursday if its not released, hit them again on Friday.Dont wait till you see it here,by then it will be too late. "If you want something done right,Do it yourself" Thought number 2: Everything is subject to change. I would rather go to the store twice and find out its not on sale than be sitting on the computer finding out every store is sold out. Then hitting F5 Only to find out that" This thread is now closed. Last one out please shut the lights."

Not saying Forte isn't great, he is a Top tier running back for sure.....but you just don't see many NFL RBs playing their whole career with one team. Teams know they can grab a RB in the draft and plug them in rather easily. Frank Gore might be one of the last you'll see to play his career with one team....

OT FOOTBALL AGAIN:

I agree to a point. And I also realize they will likely hit him with the Franchise Tag next season and see how that plays out, BUT, would you really want to risk him going to the Lions? As for the actual use of plug and play RBs, I think that works OKAY unless you get lucky. You can make a serviceable RBBC that way if your O-line is solid, but Forte is a Marshall Faulk type talent. Those don't come along every day. As an aside, I like Gore a lot too. Thought that was a great pick when they drafted him!

Well the anniversary was yesterday. The 15th date was thrown around in the PR yesterday because that is the date their last rollout for the year happens.

I have pondered it but I don't wanna set myself up for disappointment. Plus I work over nights (9pm-7am). I should be sleeping right now lol. I may try calling tonight though.

I finally caved and preordered a TP. With permission from the Wife of course. ;) So now I'll have to wait a bit on the GN unless they keep pushing it back... Or the OG Droid goes TU... :eek:

Ingenu was promising us the Easymote, a BT NES controller, but scrapped that when costs hit $78.

And there is a Wii-like solution for the Photon 4G.

And a few others floating about.

Point is - I think if you want gaming on your Nexus and you're going to wire it to an HDTV, your best bet may be a wireless controller option.

Yeah, I skip Customer Service entirely and get myself connected to customer loyalty. They have more powers. :) In fact, I have my own customer loyalty guy who knows me via phone and email. He gave me an early loyalty discount by taking 50 off my bill last month for this month's gnex. :)

I'll take their word for it that they're not the ones blocking Google Wallet. But the statement "Verizon does not block applications" is not true. They blocked Google Search on the Fascinate when it first came out, so you'd have to use the preinstalled Bing app. They eventually backed off and unblocked it in an update, but the fact remains: they *did* block a competing app for marketing reasons.

While nothing has been confirmed by VZ it has been "confirmed" through leaks though right? What else do we have to go on? Maybe it would be more appropiate to title it that way? idk

Either way I see both sides. This is his/and AF's thread and I trust he/they knows what to do with it and how to title it. If it read "Officially announced by VZ for 12/9 release in-store with 12/8 online pre-order" and we hadn't confirmed that, well that's a different story.

= viable alternative for me

I would still like to hold the gnex and hear of real world results with radio strength and gps before pulling any trigger.

I know Sammy is "great" and all, but I still remember soooo many sammy issues from over the years. Yeah, I know. Moto has issues too. So does HTC and the rest. Moto issues usually dont include radio or gps.

Just thinkin during the wait.
 
okay, I called two more retailers locally and one said they would have them in stock on the 9th and another said he "believes" it will be on the 10th. Who knows.
