I PM'ed SirLance99 about the training going on this week. Is there any other VZW employees here that got that training email?

Did you buy directly from Verizon or through a 3rd party retailer?
if you bought directly from verizon then yes you can return it and pay the $35 fee to get the Gnex.
If you bought it from a 3rd party retailer, then you need to check the return policy of the retailer.
Maybe it's from the future?
Release date finally confirmed?
new phone hasn't set up the clock yet. Probably something like 1/1/1900 for the default time on startup.
January 1st?? odd
January 1st?? odd
January 1st?? odd
I just got off a 33 minute call (mostly waiting for a supervisor) to #611 about moving my upgrade date to the 8th from the 29th of Deember this year. I bought four Incredibles on release and the 2 years is up on the 29th of this month. All of the call was very pleasant and I never asked pressing questions about a relaase date of the Gnex, just told them I wanted the ability to walk in the store (or through telesales if absolutely necesary) on the 8th and pick up only one GNex. (requesting that only one date moved up.)
I was told by Randy CSR Rep that for a 4G phone and the Iphone there is no way in the system he can upgrade early. He can request a M2 (manager override), but he could not do it himself. He asked if I would like to speak to a supervisor who are the only ones whom can approve requesdted M2's. I said this would be great.
I spoke to supervisor James (after quite a delay) and he said that he nor any supervisor has the authority or ability to move up an upgrade date for an Iphone or 4G phone. Verizon has changed the system and this could not be done. He was aware of my interest in the GNex and wanting to upgrade as soon as it came out, but stated he does not have the authority or ability to do this.He was also aware that I have had 4 lines with them for over 10 years and my bills, which never once have been late, run just under $300 per month with data on all lines.
To end the call with James I stated that I was part of a larger forum specifically about the Galaxy Nexus phone and would post this if I heard it correct. He repeated his response about no early upgrade for 4G phones. So I took from the that the long and short of this is I will not be getting a new phone prior to Christams as an upgrade.
So sad.
By the way I nwas offered to move all four line upgrade dates to today if I wanted 3G phones.
What is so odd about it, obviously the phone has no service and not synced its time or date, which would default to January 1st. Phone most likely was turned on for the first time 19 minutes before photo was taken.
It has no sim card so it can't get the current date through a carrier. That is probably just the default date.
Edit: Ninja'd
Haha, goes well with the no sim card. clearly means no network connection to get time and date![]()
Lol... Sleep (AND WORK) is over-rated.
I am not sure what you are implying. Pretty much every google product/service has launched when expected. Albeit many have had issues, or didn't catch on, and were discontinued, especially their web based products
Guys have a quick question. I just bought the Bionic a week ago. I want to return it for the Gnex. Would I qualify for Verizon's extended return policy for the holidays in case this release date keeps getting pushed back?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I do know there is a $35 restocking fee that applies.
If anyone has a problem with how Steven titles his own frakking thread, why not just PM him about it with your demands?

You skin that smoke wagon and see what happens!

i don't believe that at all. when you go to upgrade your device online, it says "eligible for upgrade on..." NOT "eligible for upgrade to certain phones but not others on..."
i'm pretty sure there's just one upgrade date. i chatted with an online CSR yesterday, specifically mentioned the nexus, and he told me that if i call 611 or go into a store they should have no problem moving my upgrade date since it's only 3 weeks away. i could see them hassling you if it's a few months, but for those of us who have had the incredible since day one and are only a few weeks out, it shouldn't be an issue...
if thats the case, where's Doc Brown?!?![]()
how is it possible that with ALL the users on here, not one is a verizon employee that can give us the real gritty news
Exactly
saturday january 1st would be 2011, not 2012!
How many posts did we need about the date one the phone.. Mine included.. Geez
