This is what's called the NE2 discount. If you are the primary line on the account, with a calling plan of $39.99/month or higher (I believe this is the amount) you are eligible for an extra discount at 20 months into your 2 year contract.

If you signed your last contract with Verizon before Feb. 14, 2009, with a calling plan of $39.99-$74.98/month you will get $50 off.

If you have that same calling plan but signed a contract after Feb 15th, 2009, you will get $30 off.

If you signed a contract before Feb. 14th 2009 with a calling plan of $79.99 and up, you will get $100 discount.

If you have the calling plan of $79.99 and up, but signed a contract after Feb 15, 2009, you will get the $50 off.

that actually makes sense - the longer you have been paying on a plan, and not having VZW subsidize your phone, the bigger your discount...

still doesn't answer, for sure, that the Loyalty Credit is the same as/different than the NE2 - but i'm sure VZW will claim they're the same.
 
I think they just threw up another PR about LTE in washington....this is new right?

Maybe they're still updating the PRs for today.
 
Man am I going to feel like an idiot when I am there waiting for the store to open Thursday morning, only to be told they don't have the nexus. Then repeating that on Friday morning. I don't want to risk missing the first wave of devices, but I have a feeling I'm going to be getting there before opening twice for nothing, and annoying the manager/sales people. heh
 
Hey all...yesterday I had called 4 VZW corp stores in my area and I got the same response..."no idea, maybe this month or next." So on a quick stop home before my work dinner tonight I stopped into one of the stores that I called. I walked up to the sales reps and asked for any information. They said none so far. I refuted, "I know its coming out. The emails are all over with the release dates of either Thursday or Friday."

At that point they smiled and asked for my info. I gave it to them and then one of the reps wrote it down on a card put it in his wallet and told me he will call me as soon as I can buy it. Its funny once I called them out on it how they reacted. Just goes to show you the difference in calling a store and walking into one.

Even more positive news is my TPU case came today. The thing is great. It won't stick when pulling out of a pocket but not too slippery that it will fall out. Also when its in my pocket it barely is any bigger than my clunky D2.

Super excited for Friday!!!

Funny you mentioned that because I just got off the phone with them asking about a Thursday soft launch. The salesperson told me that's the info he has but he said it isn't concrete. Thursday or Friday, I'm happy either way.
 
Any word on non-corporate stores?? We only have an authorized retailer here. I went in today and he said they are having a big meeting Thursday morning, so it makes me hopeful. He said to call him after that and he might know more. When I asked if they typically get phones in the same day, he did say yes.. But not sure if that's just him talking or not

There have been reports of both 9th and 15th for non-corporate stores. There definitely seems to be a mega meeting thursday.

My hope is the Soft Launch starts after whatever this secret Thursday meeting is. I just wish I was part of the Verizon Illuminati

I want to get ahold of a Verizon Rep to know how many they'll have in stock so I know if I need to take the day off and go at 8:30/9 AM or if I can head up there during my lunch break and pick it up around 11ish.

Make sure to report back here so I don't embarrass myself too :)

I'll use the Eastern time zone verizon stores as guinea pigs.
 
Two more things:

1. I was asking the reps about accessories and they will not have an extended battery at launch which I was pretty bummed about.

2. Does anyone know a good app to use that I can video call with my wife? Bear in mind I will have the GNex but my wife has the iPhone 4s. Thanks all!!!
