OK, this has to be the funniest call I've heard about to a corporate VZW store and one that DOES tend to make 'believe' it will be Friday.

Me: Hi, just wondering if you'll have the Galaxy Nexus on sale Friday
Rep: I cannot confirm or deny that at this point
Me: Does that mean you have stock that can't be released until Friday
Rep: I cannot confirm or deny that at this point

There was almost an unspoken chuckle between the two of us.

Now I also called 3 other VZW Corporate stores and they were clueless.

Edit: He told me to call back tomorrow.

Phil Nickinson, kellex, british turbo all say 9th

I don't even know where P3droid stands on it anymore.

We've received multiple pictures of phones in stock, and numerous accounts of launch on the 9th.

If this is the work of trolls, bravo.
 
Called four more stores near me. With each call, I received less and less information. So looks like my local store was the best one, which at least told me to call back on Friday.

Most were very abrupt and said we have no information at this time. Strange. I really loathe VZW.
 
I just wanted to let anyone who lives near me know that I called 5 corporate stores in my area (Metro Detroit, MI) and no one knew anything or had a sign up sheet available. Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Rochester and two in Troy.

Oh well....
 
Long time lurker with OG Droid, looking forward to the Nexus. Since I'm new I can't post a link to a video that I can't view at work. Nexus is in the first frame and it's about Verizon and smart phones. Anyone volunteer to have me pm them the link so they can view it?

You know what my biggest fear is. Assuming it launches this Friday (I'm VERY skeptical), what if I CAN'T GET ONE!!! What if, when I show up, they're sold out?? I really they would have done a pre-order so it could just show up at my door on Friday.
 
Can anybody in northern jersey get any info from teh Secaucus store? i've called numerous times different voices and all are clueless.I think I mite storm in there at about 4:30pm and ask for manager for details or something.
 
This launch might be the subject of a Harvard Business School review. I can not possibly conceive of a poorer way to promote a product. The promo material goes to the retail outlets ONE day before the launch? I think somebody like Samsung and Google needs a lawyer to figure out how bad Verizon is screwing them. Or are they just grateful that Big Red is letting them sell their phone on their system? Either way the consumer is getting hosed. Guess that is what happens when you have the only really viable wireless system.

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm still very skeptical of the 8th/9th, but I'd rather embarrass myself by waiting there for the store to open both mornings than miss out and have to wait weeks/months for the phone.

Why bother? The manager is likely the reason you went 0 for 20 on their reps. If the manager of a store doesn't want the employees to give out information, then it's probably not gonna happen.
