NBC Bay Area has the story up on it's website saying it launches on Dec 9. Do prominent news companies usually report these rumors? I doubt it.

I used to work for NBC Bay Area, and I can tell you that they get their news from blogs and forums like us. And the graphic that they are using has a Droid logo imbedded in the Nexus. lol

Oh, and I am new. Hi!

The Droid RAZR and the Rezound are already $199 on Amazon..

I wonder how long it will take the Galaxy Nexus to drop to $199?

I'd take that over my $50 ne2.

I texted my sister and said:

She texted back:

Seriously, guys. This is how she talks to me! :(

And again, I publicly proclaim my undying love and admiration for Hanette. If I didn't know better, I would swear she was my twin. Just out of curiosity...is she older or younger?

I am absolutely convinced that every single VZW store in the greater Los Angeles area has absolutely terrible customer service. Seriously, how do these people get hired? And how do they STAY hired?! You'd think management or corporate would see their behavior and get it straightened out...

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Launches on Verizon on Dec. 9 | NBC Bay Area

Referring to the link, NBC Bay Area got the story from the WSJ, who got it from from our very own Phandroid, who got it from this forum thread, and we got it from RootzWiki.

If it's going to be a story from a prominent news company, chances are it came from this thread.

Now you know. :) ;)

Haha I've actually been to the one in Jersey City (its HUGE) But I have not been to the one in hoboken. The addresses confused me the first time I went and I thought I was going to hoboken, ended up at the Jersey city one. Freakin' amazing man! Hands down best place I've been- very few guidos even on Fri nights :).

the hoboken one is just OK, much better crowd and vibe at the J.C. one. i'm with you though, i love that place.

I notice you are a fellow Buffalonian. Have you happened to call any local stores to see if they say anything of interest? I plan on doing this after work myself...

I live in buffalo but did not call any stores i figure it is def coming out on thursday or friday and I am just hoping 7 corners verizon store by mckinly mall wont be packed

It's $229 @amazon unless your a new customer $209 if your adding a line.

that actually makes sense - the longer you have been paying on a plan, and not having VZW subsidize your phone, the bigger your discount...

still doesn't answer, for sure, that the Loyalty Credit is the same as/different than the NE2 - but i'm sure VZW will claim they're the same.

I just got off the phone with Customer Service, and apparently the NE2 discount is different from a loyalty discount. There is a separate department set up for "loyalty", and only they can give out a loyalty discount.

She also repeated the earlier summary/post of when the NE2 applies.

Lastly, she also stated that VZW is stopping the NE2 discount, so when I use mine, it'll be the last one.

more importantly, I wondered who photoshopped that droid "eye" onto the phone?

but really, thanks for the update :D

I'm not feeling this. If the Friday release is true with no announcement and denials, then it puts me in a weird spot. Am I just going to show up on Thursday and hope they have one? Repeat on Friday? It seems kind of psychopathic to show up at a store when they just told you they don't have the thing you want, as if they're just lying and don't want to sell it. I'm already creepy enough being a grown man with long hair, that might bring more attention on me than I'd like.

I've formed a local pact with another forum member so maybe one of us will score a hit tomorrow.

As for Verizon not blocking any apps, what about tethering apps? I think I see the loophole. They don't block them but they are not supported in the Market which amounts to the same thing in the end for us.

Moorpark, CA was the store that said for sure on Thursday. FWIW
