Argh! How about some of you folks who have confirmation/appointments with stores have those people call the Folsom, CA (and surrounding) Verizon wireless corporate stores and tell them to get a clue! :mad:

I will of course report my findings but if you guys in north Jersey beat me to the store and take them all you will find a very very unhappy BabyBlues crying at one of the bars in the area - and I won't care what time it is. :eek:

As for Verizon not blocking any apps, what about tethering apps? I think I see the loophole. They don't block them but they are not supported in the Market which amounts to the same thing in the end for us.

It's sad that one of the big things I'm looking forward to in exchanging my Rezound for a GNex is having real buttons again. Much as I love my Rezound, after 3 weeks with it, I'm getting tired of playing "Find the hidden power and volume buttons" every time I want to push one. Whoever made them so flush with the chassis needs to either be slapped or forced to use the phone daily. (So, naturally my wife hits the button and asks what's so difficult). :rolleyes:

Yeah, but do they get into the business of repeating all the crazy Internet rumors that keep coming out? Forgive me if I find it more credible coming from NBC, who I haven't heard report any rumors before, than Droid Life, who makes a living off peddling false rumors.

Whoops. That's what I meant. Micro. Whatever it is called, it looks to be the same size as the Gnex.

So assuming same plug size, will it work?

I'm a non account owner member on a VZW family plan. I have the account owner's verbal permission to purchase the Galaxy Nexus when it comes out and am eligible for a discount with a 2yr contract renewal. Anyone know what I'll need in order to walk into a Corp store on Friday and get a GNex (assuming its available)? I'm assuming there's some way to do this without the account owner present (maybe have the last 4 of his social)?

Haven't read the new King, but I just finished Neal Stephenson's REAMDE: A Novel. I'd recommend it. If you've read any of Stephenson's work, this is more like Snowcrash (great) than Quicksilver (boring to the point I couldn't finish).

You will have to be put on the account as an account manager. That's the only way without the actual account owner there.

From my understanding you can plug in a thumbdrive on your Roku and it will read any compatible file types correct?

I do not believe it will work the same with the GNEX since as you know it cannot be mounted as Mass Storage. This is only a guess on my part but I could attempt it on my PS3 and Xoom tonight..

They need to sign in to verizonwireless.com and add you to the list of account managers.

They will also need to setup an account password/pin that is a maximum of 5 digits long, which they should tell you. This should be different from their login password to verizonwireless.com

Just have whomever is the account owner to call *611 on his/her handset and let them know they want to add another person on the manager account and they'll get it done pretty quickly.

EDIT: Ninja'd. I fail at life.
