Isn't anyone else concerned about the change from 12/9 to "Coming Soon" in the Equipment Guide?
Not at all!!!!

I say that because I now know for a fact that they are in stock at the corporate store by my house and why in the hell would Verizon ship them to the stores to have them sit for another week.

The million dollar question is do I spring for the extended battery day 1 or try the stock one out first? I wonder how much weight/thickness it adds.

I was just pondering the same thing but I think I will opt for the ext I don't think the extra bulk will be enough to keep me away. using this razr for the past couple weeks has made me realize that thin is overrated...I think past a certain point functionality actually suffers

So I just stopped in at the Best Buy down the street from my house to pick up a Kindle and a Nook. As I was leaving the store I had to stroll through the mobile area to see if there were any traces of the Nexus, but there were none to be found. As I was about to leave, the mobile manager stopped and said, "So what time are you coming in Friday?". I just got a big grin on my face and told him I would be in when they open and then asked if they could hold one for me. He laughed and said that they already had one with my name written on it.

Friday is the New Christmas.

I wish I could buy from BB since its way more convenient than either of the Verizon Corporate stores, however $799 MSRP vs $649 (Theoretical)= worth the hassle to goto VZW with no upgrade to use.

Do we know if the stock battery cover will work with the extended battery???

I've seen several people say the stock cover had some flex, maybe its got enough room to fit that battery inside =)

For the record, a manager at one of the local Houston stores on the west side of town just told me that Equipment Guide now says "Coming Soon" instead of December 9, as a previous poster said. Hope that doesn't mean anything bad.

I talked to 2 stores one in Cleveland and the second in Conroe, both would not say anything.

Wow so its like that huh? VIP Status?

Been lurking for a few weeks. GN for GSM better come to US soon, or I may go back to hiding under my iPhone 3GS rock!

Hi! And sorry - you are not allowed - and it's not big enough to hide under. :p

Hoping for the same thing. No news yet. I figure just three more nights staying up at the most. Tonight, tomorrow night, or Thursday night. Hopefully the sooner versus the later.

Hahahahaha - you poor delusional soul - you think you'll actually get sleep once this is released. You know you'll be up playing with it all night.

Okay, I have my glass of Ovaltine and a box of Chocolate Chip cookies.
So lets get this pre-order party started.

I have my coffee and chips.

Is the extra 250mah really going to make a difference? Usually extended batteries (like for my Droid X) go from the stock 1500mah or whatever it is, to the 2000's. That is a significant increase...250 seems like you might...MIGHT get 2 extra hours, probably 1. Is it worth it?

My local news just reported that Samsung "released" their new phone the Galaxy Nexus, but Verizon refused Google wallet because it is not secure enough YET.

I was so surprised to see the phone made my local (Albany) news AND that the news falsely reported that the phone was already released. Figures.

This is a small example of why I believe very little of what I hear on the news. There is never context and there is always more to the story.

The internet, of course, is always accurate and an exception to my normal skeptical outlook.

It will be to a lot of people.

Speed catch up tonight ("thanks" stalking). Crazy at work right now, and, since the release really is imminent, was trying to get everything situated for a seamless transition. Which brings me to...

(fruit rant)
I've had an iPhone since day 1. I manually input all of my contacts into my windows laptop at the time, then imported into my phone via itunes, it was great.

Then I got a mac, imported into address book from my iphone, seamless, it was great.

Then, I "upgraded" to iOS5 and my contacts synced to "the cloud". Everything is great on my phone, but, nothing is synching back to my Mac. I'm 2 OS updates behind on my mac, so, I can't get them directly from "the eff'n cloud", so, I am going to have to manually add some to my google contacts. I've apparently added over 20 since the last time I got a good sync, so, that will be fun. I left out the part about iOS 5 making my 3Gs very very laggy.

This is why I am happy to be leaving the fruit (though I'll keep my Mac, it has been way better than any windows PC I have ever had). They roll out these "upgrades", and subtlety lock you into updating things all over that cost money. It's "the cloud", seamless integration between all of your devices... provided you have upgraded everything, say 3 hail mary's, and get lucky. If things do not sync, deposit $60 in your apple extortion fund and we'll think about it.

That is all, I thought that would make a few folks here happy. Good night Nexans. We're almost there.
