Emails are a huge deal for me as well, I have an LG dare and I'm constantly looking for a computer or smartphone to borrow when on the run and need to check my email!
But yeah, I totally agree smartphones are a necessity on set.
I'm sorry about missing those job opportunities, I'm sure more will come your way(:

WOO LG Dare here too! Can't wait to upgrade.

so I ran into one of the verizon reps i normally deal with on the way to work this morning. she came up and said that she had a launch meeting for the nexus on monday but would not tell me the day other then that it is this week. I asked her if i would be disappointed if I came in on thurs to get it? she replied, "you wont be disappointed."

No one mention getting the Gnex so we can keep this thread open! :D

Just kidding. :p I think Steven needs a vacation and will probably go AWOL after he gets his new toy :D

Nice hanging with you all *sniff* but Im sure ptII is around the corner... the Gnex release thread! :D

EDIT: I wonder how many followers P3 and BMX are going to lose after release  LOL

Is it just me? Or is P3Droid kinda mean.

I think it's just his personality. Kinda like he's feeling special bc he has something we all want but can't have.

Anytime I've ever tweeted him a question about it, he's responded with the answer, although a bit cocky at times.

Welp... this thread seems only to have about two or so more days of life. It's time for you folks to give each other some hugs and share fond memories complete with tears. :)

Alright, I thanked everyone earlier, I guess its time for the hugs? :p I'm sad though because hugs means its almost over, and some part of me wants this thread to go on forever!.....
*Eerrrchk* Ok, back to reality. Nexus is almost here!!!! Yay!!
*hugs all around* :)

I just came back from a crazy scene at my local Verizon Wireless. I walked in to inquire about the Galaxy Nexus and I see Shawn Michaels in the store doing the very same thing! His convo with the VZW salesman went like this.

SM: Any solid date on when the Galaxy Nexus will be out?

VZW: We haven't heard anything concrete yet unfortunately, we have the same info you do from the internet.

SM: Really brother, I've been waiting for this phone for 2 months and your company hasn't said a damn thing.

VZW: I was waiting too, I feel your pain. I actually got a Droid Razr, which is an exceptional phone. Can I interest you in one?

SM: I'm just a Nexi Boy

Me in background: Nexi Boooooooooooyyyyyyyy

SM: Don't want no Droid Toy

Me in background: Droid Toooooooooyyyyyyyyy

He then proceeded to Sweet Chin Music the salesman, walk into the back (Where they already had the Nexus in stock), and forced him to ring up the sale which half conscious. I reached my hand out, asking if I could see Shawn's phone before he walked out and he said "Hands of the merchandise". He then left the store. I then talked to the Salesman, who gave me the same pitch he gave Shawn about getting a Razr.

I replied: I am a Galaxy Nexican, I'll wait till the 9th like every man.

Nicely Done!

Verizon has holiday sales for 4G phones to boost with more promotions such as the $50 off at this point I don't think people really care for the cheaper inefficient phones if they can get their hands on the Nexus pronto.

I'm gonna miss this thread too. I've had a lot of fun but definitely have become less productive because of it! lol.

Could someone remind me of the ideal battery protocol when you first get the phone? Isn't it something like run it completely dead the first time and then charge it all the way to 100% to get the most out of it long term?

TIA

It really really really does! Didn't start till after Labor Day too. Follows the same sort of schedule as public secondary schools. Which makes sense for a commuter campus, but it's so annoying since it's still The University of Michigan...

I love that guy!!! Seriously my favorite commercials. Is that weird?

Not weird, those commercials are my favorites! Especially this one

I can't believe its about a day or two before launch and verizon still hasn't said anything, what a bunch of losers. I feel bad for people who work there and have to answer the same "when is the nexus coming out" question over and over because verizon is too dumb to just put a date out there

Bad news guys,
I heard from an inside source that Verizon is having too much fun screwing with us and wants to delay the phone again so they are canceling Friday.

No, I don't mean just the launch - since the cat is already out of the bag they are going to have to cancel the actual day of the week.

This week's Friday is going to be renamed Thursday2 and then we will go direct to Saturday. The calendar date will be renumbered to 12/8.5/2011. When asked about the launch they will respond "We were going to release the Galaxy Nexus on 12/9 but that day no longer exists. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Enjoyed that Post!

Not to stir up stuff, but hes a nobody. He may work at a authorized retailer, but going off his prior posts I think hes a no body who wants to stir the pot. Either way, do not put much credence into his info

Not to talk trash about another forum, but...

I'll preface this by saying, I love XDA. 99 percent of every dev-related thing I've ever done has come from the fine people at XDA. If 10 people bought an Android device, 5 of them would likely be on XDA, writing code and producing ROMs to make the thing run better. All 3 Android devices I've ever owned (G1, Vibrant, Galaxy Tab 10.1) work better because of free info and resources I get over there...

That being said, the moderation at XDA is terrible. Moderators take a long time to do anything when a post/poster is reported. Name-calling and false rumors/speculation are allowed to run rampant it seems. XDA is definitely NOT the place I would look to for accurate info about a release date or insider knowledge.

As many good people as there are over there, there are also a TON of clowns who do their best to mislead people in anyway they can, and it takes awhile for bans to be handed out. The person starting the 15th rumor is very likely one of those clowns.

So I just stopped in at the Best Buy down the street from my house to pick up a Kindle and a Nook.

Off Topic:

Most people know about free library books on the Kindle, but the Nook has them too. Just go to Overdrive.com and see if your local library participates. Also, every Friday Barnes and Noble has a promotion called Free Fridays for free ebooks. There's one free book featured in the blog post, but usually about a half dozen or so others that are free as well.

I always remember reading in my older phone manuals to plug in the phone immediately and give it a full charge before use. I don't remember them saying anything else after that.
