Yeah, I took Friday off of work to go see Abbey and get my phone. So . . . I'm going on Friday to go get my phone. Any questions? ;)

Enough with all of this. Did you forget that the Galaxy Nexus page once said 16GB for about a day until we all FREAKED OUT then it was changed? Some idiot is messing with us all. RELAX.

Too many confirmations, too many moving parts have been set in motion.

As for this being Wednesday and NOT having any word yet . . . did someone once say a "soft launch"?

Keep it positive. I'm POSITIVE I will be in Abbey's store on Friday getting my phone.

Very well said.

I believe Verizon knows they have a difficult situation on their hands... the GN rollout and a big expansion of the LTE network. If they put two and two together and get three, the general public will know that they messed up. And that's the last thing they want.

And this wasn't a factor in the release of the Bionic, Rezound, Charge, Razr, LG...why? I don't buy this 'LTE expansion' one single bit. The network was expanding with these other phones and there were no delays. Nope, I believe this is a phone issue.

just a quick note...

if you guys are getting flustered with p3droid's tweets, please do the logical thing and simply unfollow him. for by then, sanity will have returned. :) i got irritated by his nannie nannie boo boo stick your head in doo doo schtick this morning and found that i've been saner since.

Hey guys just adding to the pot of what I've heard.

My best friend works at a kiosk in a costco in new jersey and I've been bugging him for nexus info.

Turns out they got a shipment of them today, he had to input pricing into the computer (price reduction on the razr) and he said in the computer, the nexus read "$289.99", and that he even has a plastic display model he's been playing with. He knows nothing of a release date yet.

But we are close, and I can't wait to get my hands on one

Just went through a few accessories that had the GN listed as compatible devices. GN no longer showing. Rut roh.

Out hunting crows now for my dinner.

Argh! It just will not let up eh?

Give it to me with 3G already and I'll wait on the network! What are they gonna do take em all back and change hardware? Pull em all out of the box and flash firmware?

ArgH!

I was told the 9th is a go at my local corporate store last night.

He told me I shouldn't bother making an appointment and just come in Friday morning/whenever and I should be just fine.

I remember his name.

Guess what?

I'll be in there Friday morning looking to buy my Nexus, if I get ran around.. I'll have a nice few choice words for the manager.

Riiigghhhht. Because it would be his fault Verizon won't let him sell you a phone.

I wouldn't risk my job for you. No matter how many posts you/anyone have on this forum.

Playing with plastic display models huh....fun times.

Could be.

The issue doesn't matter.

The perception of the issue does.

What's different with this phone? Think LTE radio...think LTE radio. I hope I'm wrong.

Given that LTE had major issues from Verizon within the last 36 hours and already the individual phones are being blamed, despite Verizon statements to the contrary - I'd say you're wrong and you can relax.

I predict that the stories of LTE radio and bad update, while false, will persist for some time.

You should call and verify. Many are saying that their reps are canceling appts now

Let's take a step back. LTE problems would be a problem w/ all the 4g phones. To delay this phone due to LTE problems would mean they should stop selling all 4g phones. I don't see that happening nor rumors of that happening. Razor ads galore, every single night I see two+. LTE network problems are on the other side and will need to be worked out on that end. I don't see that as a reason for a push back date. I smell something else.

so after the high of being able to have the nexus in my hands yesterday, i just got a call from my verizon rep this morning letting me know that the release got pushed back and as of now i wont be able to get my phone of Friday :(

I tried to fish for information, he said the district manager had called and mentioned and gave them the order to hold off. No word yet on when the new release day will be. He then said something about court litigations regarding the phone but he didnt sounds like he really knew much about it - that part sounded more like he went online and was reading rumors or something. In any case...i guess the waiting game continues (sigh)

im pretty sure the page changed from 9th to Coming Soon sometime yesterday evening..someone from the west coast "confirmed". i read it in here, so it must be true.

Yes, it seems the decision to hold the launch was made yesterday afternoon, that is when the equipment guide changed from 9th to coming soon. I buy what Hanette was saying, they knew they had a bug, and were rushing an OTA to fix it upon activation. They missed the deadline, and the launch was halted. As soon as they get the OTA finalized, they will re-instate launch, send out a press release, and launch the next day, since all the phones are positioned, and the training will be complete.

if P3 has info I'd rather wait and find out from someone else....I'll never support anything that guy does again because his attitude sucks, as far as im concerned he can shove it..i have a nexus you don't dont complain to me im better then you....really????? Glad we are all ten years old fighting over the firetruck in the sandbox

Verizon doesn't usually sign off on OTA updates, even bug-fixers, all that quickly.

Kellex updated again:
Thanks Han.:(

What unfortunate news to logon to this morning, especially when it seemed so close...Still, with all the stores ACTUALLY receiving stock in the last few days, at least some of us will be able to go actually get a hands on with an in-store unit  Yeah, not much a consolation prize, but its something.
What I'm more concerned about is if the delay really is due to continuing problems with the "amazing" LTE network! Is it just that its still relatively new, and still unstable, or is this what we have to look forward to with LTE in general--really fast (but highly unstable infrastructure) not sure that is a great tradeoff:confused:

You have been told incorrect information. You can return a activated phone. Search this forum and there are at least 100 posts about it. The rep you were talking to was clueless.

I just spoke to another rep and a supervisor and it is 14 days from the date of activation. He said the extended policy is done like that in case you are giving the phone as a gift and they won't activate it until Christmas day or something like that. Once it is activated you have 14 days from that date to activate the phone. That is now 4 people that have informed me of that 2 csr's, one supervisor and a in store employee.
