Who said anything about "Leaked" documents. I stood there while a representative looked at the system and said "Yes, I see in our system that we have an official launch date of the ninth." I saw the same screen, so did thousand of people and reps yesterday. You should my post more carefully.

Um, that's kinda the definition of a leak. Internal information shared with outsiders without authorization. You can be sure the document you saw was NOT intended for customers to see.

Ugh.

Text from my sister.

It's so ugly I have to hide it.

Sorry bro. Looks delayed. Don't know how long. Go for a run or something.

I'm really beginning to believe the guy that I spoke with at the VZW non-Corporate store was right, January. His source was a friend at Google.

I noticed you were from providence haven't seen any other rhode islanders in here though.....I'm in warwick but as you know most people think we are part of Long Island soooo i just put RI as my location lol.

I'm in South County myself, down in Kingston. Nice to see some rhody's around here. Just don't end up in front of me in line for a gnex when it comes out :p

Hard to edit on app... Well saw people asking about 3G to 4G and wanted to repost this, in case someone hasn't
ALSO, I got a verizon flier in the mail today. I posted pictures of it in the discounts thread. I think it's that "3G to 4G" discount that people were talking about. This makes me REALLY glad that I didn't do the Rent-a-R*z-phone thing. $100! and I have the $30 "loyalty" and the $50 living social that saved me $25 ... The cash from my Pizza taste testing might cover the phone and some of the accessories!

OT: Christmas Cheer
I'm so happy that I'm going to post a Christmas Song. I was in a band once, that was asked to do a holiday song for a compilation, and we did it... listening back, it sounds like we might've done it in one take and not cared too much... but it makes me happy and seems appropriate.

That's the point. Rarely does Verizon give an accurate heads up on release, i.e. Razr. Apple gives you notice a week ahead of time. Verizon's bumbling operation can't do anything consistently, other than be consistently bumbling.

Why do you think Apple doesn't let them do anything with the launch? :)

I was thinking the same thing. Did they temporarily stop the sales of Rezound and Razr too? They use 4G LTE........

stopping sales would cause a HUGE backlash (and media event), they'll just hope those peoples phones work :P

stopping a phone launch, they haven't advertised has much less impact..

my corporate store had no phones, no email, no info.

My store didn't have any phones either as of last night when I stopped there. The one guy said he had seen the 12/9 date in their system, though.

Perhaps the shipments were delayed or not all stores will have stock on 12/9 and they're just waiting for shipments so all (or mostly all) stores have them in stock?

These are made by Incipio (as it says on the front of the box). I have one for my BB 9650. It has a silicone case and then a hard plastic case also. So you can use just the silicone case or also use the hard plastic case for extra protection. It is pretty neat.

Sounds THICK.

I just emailed my buddy who works for Verizon in a corporate position.
I asked if the GNex would be in stores on Friday.
He responded saying that he would text me.
He then texted 95% sure, get there early because it will sell out.

I know that is nothin earth shattering, but it is a tiny bit of (almost) positive info.

Could it be the radio Samsung uses?

Except someone just said their co-worker with a Stratosphere was getting signal like a champ while his Charge was cycling data... So you would think if Samsung got a good radio in that phone, they could do it in the GNex as well...

Of course with my Droid Charge that was normal behavior with a properly functioning 4G network. The worst radio I've ever seen.

Stock Froyo was horrible on the Charge. For a company known for testing ad nauseum, it sure seemed like a half-*** attempt at a proper release. I think the problems with the phone, even LTE related, were due to the build of the software because running a custom, cleaned up ROM based on it was slick as could be. The radio firmware hadn't changed and things were vastly improved. I was a little worried that there was a problem with my phone this morning until I saw other issues being reported. I also thought it could have something to do with the G-bread rollout late last week, though things were fine up until yesterday.

I think something that most people fail to put into perspective is that while a move to LTE based on the GSM consortium's roadmap is a smart move for Verizon, the CDMA-LTE data handoff issues are real and not trivial, mostly because the CDMA raido is ALWAYS connected (it's still your voice/SMS service).
