still sticking with that avatar theme, huh?? ;)

I'm in denial, and am very close to jumping onto my T-Mobile life raft. Doing whatever I can to keep the faith, because I would really like to keep my unlimited LTE data, but this rezound is not acceptable to me.

I used a SGSII for two weeks, and IMO felt leaps and bounds better.

Sorry, couldn't help myself... :D

Han, I promise you, I am telling the truth. The email to stores cancelling launch is real. That is all anyone knows. Any of the scenarios I and others have thrown out in the past hour could be true. All we can do is wait and see.

I agree - there are TOO many similar stories to not think that a corporate email went out, delaying Friday's release. Either that, or this is a HUGE conspiracy, the magnitude of which the world has never seen! :)

The only consolation I take from all this is that the ONE official statement we're heard from Verizon is a 2011 release. And there just aren't that many days left in 2011. Although at this point, I wouldn't exactly doubt a recant on that statement either.

This was in response to me asking my guy (cellular provider) about the delay as well as asking him if he could get me a "test" device. No need to take it with a grain of salt and no need in believing its validity. Just a very sad man (me) spreading the word. [:-[

Mean Joe Green (name changed for privacy),

You are correct about the delay. I'm traveling with one of the higher up's with VZW these past 3 days. He got the email this morning. However, I've also been told by my inventory manager that we are still receiving the phones on Friday. However, if VZW says we can't activate the phones until the official launch date (whenever that date is), then we'll have to wait. VZW is the one that loads up the ESN's or MEID's of this model that allows that serial number to get activated. They can block that or not pay us the subsidy if we try to activate early. Either way, we have to wait until we get the official word. The only "test" devices are the ones that have rate plans that are considered demo plans, like mine.

I'll keep you informed. You are more than welcome to come by and drool over the phone on Friday knowing you can't use it yet :)

Super great, very informative person

Told him that I will pass on the visit Friday. It would be too much like that old Howard Jones song No One is to Blame,

By the time this thing officially releases at this rate, it'd better have support for phaser blasts (although Verizon would lock out the 'kill' setting), beaming across an entire neighborhood (NFC or matter transfer), run on energy generated from cold fusion, and be able to bend light...

i can confirm 4G issues on my east coast RAZR, but not a complete outage. i have had frequent switches between 4G/3G and periods of full data loss for 4-5 hours now, but have not been notified of a SIM card error.

i hope that VZ is just telling stores that it is delayed to get them to shut up about the 9th, but i really think we are going to be waiting until at least monday. the corporate store i called yesterday is now back to saying "before the end of the year" instead of "see you friday", but that is to be expected to keep in line with the change in the product guide. we know that some stores already have inventory, they can't sit on that inventory forever. it WILL be here (i know you're tired of seeing it)
soon
.

THis is EXACTLY why Verizon jumped so fast to deny they were "blocking" the app yesterday. They know they can't block Google Wallet legally, and any implication that is what they are doing will lead to either a lawsuit or a federal investigation. I thought the rumors of Google Wallet having something to do with the delay were bogus (and mostly still do), but it makes you think. Did the Verizon execs get pissed at Google for making that statement yesterday? The timeline matches up. So does the LTE issues. So does the timing of the leaks. Who knows.
Agreed that Verizon was trying to stave off a PR backlash re: Google Wallet. I'm glad that they're getting taken to task on this, we should be able to choose which method we want for ourselves, especially if ISIS really isn't coming until late 2012, as per reports. While I suspect that the Wallet legal ramifications are what's causing the Nexus holdup, the 4G outages are concerning as well.

So is everything still as depressing as it was first thing this morning? Any new loops in the roller coaster ride

on a side note: those who were saying "the gnex wont be able to hold ICS over the razr or rezounds heads for long and will not be the best phone at that point", just got cracked in the head. motorola said today expect it to be 4-6 months before they begin updating their current devices to ics. so those that bought an r-phone hoping it would be updated in jan or feb might be out of look longer than they thought

I wonder if all those shipments these stores are getting tomorrow are actually Droid 4's. I would not be at all surprised  :(

I've been through launches before.

Here is what I Skyped to Steven exactly 25 hours and 25 minutes ago -

I predict yet another twitch, launch day where you can walk into store and buy is not the 9th and we'll hit 71k.

Although I'd be happy to eat crow on the 9th - that's my prediction.

That was total seat of the pants, just going by launches I've seen.

Here's my next prediction - Verizon customers will have phones in hand by Monday.

If Friday doesn't release, there will be an outcry from retailers forcing Saturday sales - no one wants to sit on inventory over a shopping weekend during December.

No insider info - just me having watched releases and having seen patterns.

The salt is over by the stove. ;) :)

OK Nexians - I must get some work done. Please text, pm, email, chat in WWF or HWF or carrier pigeon if something big happens. If I actually put the phone away I might be back in about an hour.

Wifes Droid Charge dropped 4G 2 hours ago. Maybe it is like the Thunderbolt. Wasn't that delayed days due to LTE issues.

I guess if they are going to delay the Galaxy Nexus for LTE issues they they better not selling any LTE phone right now.

CSR at my local corporate store "I think the razr and bionic are the best phones with their capabilities. Only thing Nexus has going for it is android 4.0." Silly Baxter.....

Today was the 14 day mark for me with the Rezound. I went down to my local store for clarification on the return policy. I guess I lucked out catching one of the store managers right off the bat.

She told me that the holiday promotion is in fact for unactivated phones only, but after explaining my intentions with the Gnex, she gave me a card with her name and told me that as long as I bring the Rezound back before January 15th and asked for her, she would exchange it for me anyway.

For what it's worth, in both that encounter and a phone call yesterday where I did a poor job explaining my intentions, they genuinely seemed to be very unsure when the phone would release. She made sure I understood that she could only do me the favor before the 15th, whether the Gnex is available or not.

She's full of poop. The terms and conditions are right on your receipt and on their website. BUT, you do have to return the device in "like new" condition will all the junk or they can say no....

I returned mine after I heard a couple of dropped razr horror stories.
