I have been out of town for the last couple of days working and I haven't been able to review this site as often as I was. I thought I would let everyone know my experience today with a CSR....

I called a Charlotte Verizon to see if I could get on the list to have a GN. Before I said Friday or any date that I would be in she asked me what time I would be at the store on Friday. This in my mind verified the date that has been leaked. I was very happy to say the least.

The bad....just received a follow up call from her saying that she just got word that the launch has been moved to a later date and that Friday no longer was a good date. She said she would call if anything changed.

What is going on?? I want my Nexi and I am getting tired of waiting. VZW sister company in Europe has already launched the phone so it has to be due to corp and not some technical issue.
 
New bad rumors.... Isn't this usually about the time a certain someone comes out of lurking and starts proclaiming his love for his apple "soueces"?
 
The store I went into today said it will go on sale Friday 12/09 but they didn't have pricing on them yet, but it should be inline with what the Razr is selling for.
 
Why are we dismissing the idea it's being delayed because of a country wide LTE problem again? Is it because that's logical and makes too much sense for Verizon to possibly have that as the reason to delay a "not yet released" phone?
 
I think I've been waiting for something so long I've developed dementia... for some reason I just keep reading these posts but I don't remember what we are all here for.

Bad news, just went to my local authorized retailer and they said they had in fact received word of 12/9 but it was redacted today and they were notified of a delay. I asked for accessories, they had none. Looks like I'll be hitting my nearest corp. store tonight...

I still fail to understand why Verizon won't launch this damn thing on Friday. It's ready for sale; stores have them in stock and are surely able to hand one over. Verizon can't turn back now, nor can they simply leave these phones sitting dormantly in stores for the next week.

I'll be real disappointed if I don't have my Nexus this Friday :(

Oh, BTW
I live in the sticks on 10 acres 1 month ago verizon knocked on the door saying that they want to offer us fios,
My driveway is a half mile long.
I said sure do what u gotta do I'll pay for the monthly service only.
They were supposed to have it installed 2weeks ago, huh ain't seen it yet, I've had 6 different contractors here marking the property.
Next time they show up there getting the pit bull.
Verizon sucks across the board.

True, but I'm switching from an Unlimited Data plan (AT&T) so I just want to be positive that I'll still be able to get the double data plan when the GNex releases.

That's the only way I'll switch. I wasn't planning on it until I saw the promo.

Because its true .... I'm not saying they might not run out of devices the first day, but I will be surprised if we see a 2-3 week backlog.

Love it or hate it, the iPhone sets the standard for "lines for a phone on release day"

Dude, if I had the opportunity to get FIOS I would be on the phone with them every day until it happened.

Good luck with that. You think they are secretive about phone launches, try getting even a general timeline when Fios will be installed anywhere.
 
if vzw knows something is up and is actively trying to find a solution to this LTE issue they are having, it makes perfect sense they would delay the nexus because of this. im sure the vast majority of the people buying it will be coming from a 3g device, and adding all that extra strain to the LTE network probably would just make it worse. not to mention if people bought it and immediately had lte problems they would blow the internet up with reports of problems, etc, making a pr nightmare and a customer service nightmare

Fios is way worth the wait. I can't imagine going back to cable or dsl after having it. Never moving again :)
