Not trolling. But the only reason i could see phone getting cancelled ... Vzw has broken federal law by not allowing google wallet. Is that one thing that can be remedied on already produced nexus phones?

Dont know how plausible but it's a reason.

Most likely an ota would be able to correct it and open the software to allow it.

Assuming there isn't something different hardware-wise with the nfc chip, it's already been shown that Google Wallet can work on a GSM Nexus.

I tried other currently released phone IDs as well, they all come up empty. It just seems they've stopped indexing results based on Device ID of the accessories.

I'm no expert on these things. Anyone think that would indicate one way or another that there is in fact some heavy moving happening on the site? Could actually be a good thing. Same for the complete removal of the EG page.

I'm a skeptic... who lives in tornado alley. Calm before the storm? I'll continue to remain even-keel. Optimists! Take up the mantel!

Just went to my second Verizon store and talked to a really cool tech junkie. He said meet me by the tablets and then he came out with the Nexus. We had to be discrete because of the manager.

It was awesome! Fits perfectly in my hand. Not much thicker than the RAZR. He confirmed they have a bunch of phones and accessories in stock and the Friday launch was scrubbed. He said they can't sell ANY 4G phones right now because the network has to be up and running to program the 4G phones.

He's holding one for me at $250. Hopefully next week.

I have been reading this forum post for a while now... and yes, I confirm the same above. I also went into a Verizon store today and got my hands on the Nexus and yes it is amazing!! :) But as Ninja said, the launch on the 9th was delayed due to the 4G network being down. I was told that customers were complaining about connection issues. From what I understand the LTE Sim's need to be swapped or something along those lines, If someone wants to elaborate a little more who might have more information on this, please do ;) But I thought I would at least let all of you know what I found out today.

I have some good sources, 1 friend who owns an Indirect and 1 friend who is a Sales Manager for Verizon and knows all the buzz. Let me know if can be of any help. :)

I was quite upset to see p3droid leave twitter due to the circumstances. What has he actually done to harm anyone? It doesn't matter that he has an "attention-seeking" posting style. No-one has the right to get angry at him about release dates and the like because he is NOT Verizon. He has been targeted either because people are jealous or feel like he owes them something for following him. Nobody pays him any money for his tweets so nobody should feel entitled to expect information or anything else from him. That's just human decency and common sense and I find it disturbing that some good people on this forum would act in such a way.

You may not like what I said and I expect people to retort, but that's just the way I see it. In my eyes, he has been treated unfairly.

Now here's my dollar, gimme my 98c back.

I love what you've said. I've said it as well way back on page xxx and through various PM's.

I don't do twitter therefor I don't follow I just see what's posted here and I roll by that as fast as I can.

The comments that I see from members here and others are more disturbing than anything I've seen posted here by p3. The world we live in ain't it grande! Cheers kaddoble ;)

Correct me if I am wrong but weren't these searches just returning generic accessories?

Maybe it's actually a good sign that they are set to put up the real ones tonight/tomorrow?

right, but even when it was returning the general accessories, you could scroll down through the "compatible devices" tab and see the nexus listed there with a broken picture, and even that is no longer there

He isn't the only developer and especially when it comes to samsung. There are plenty of other dev's who do great work so you can't think that just because p3 is no longer on twitter that he is going to stop developing. He still has mydroidworld and tbh...

You don't understand, he is the one that provided the recovery files so that the roms could safely be created, without those no dev is going to touch the phones. He released leaked gb on the dx months and months before it was publicly launched along with gb for the charge and froyo for the fascinate.

Good news thanks! And welcome to AF glad you're here.

I really don't think so. They would have to eat the cost of ALL their devices since they're already manufactured and already in stores in many places. No way are they going to just drop it and eat the cost of all of them. They're too greedy to do that.

All the Pre 3's were done that way

It didnt say 12/6 for white razr........

The newest screenshot of the LAST Droid4 and other release info did. Wasn't referring to Kellex and DL's latest behind the scenes protected source info in the immediate link so much as what was coming up at top if you clicked Droid 4 link in the article(was just a droid4 search of DL).

So if we're to believe there was a bad batch of microsim cards and they are holding up because of that, it does sort of make sense. They probably have to now wait for a rushed shipment of GOOD sim cards and then swap them in all the nexuses they have in each store. Wouldn't take long for 5-10 people to swap all the sims, but they do have to wait for shipment. Just a thought...I have no idea how credible the "bad sim" thing is, but if it's true then the delay while waiting for functioning sims makes sense.

Still doesn't change the fact that he has mydroidworld and tbh which is where he leaked stuff to anyway. Plus maybe someone found out he is selling confidential software and that is what they are investigating. If that is the case well then that is something he knew could happen when he did it in the first place.

Guys, its not being cancelled. Period. It's already categorized as an Iconic Device. Verizon doesn't do that for just any phone, ie the Rezound. You can go to the Iconic ordering page and see for yourself, the Rezound isn't there. That being said, I just got back from a visit to my corporate Verizon location. The lady that helped me said they had the Nexus in stock, they've all been trained, and its coming out Friday. I specifically asked if there was a delay, due to the 4G problems she'd already acknowledged, or something else and she said no. She was excited when explaining all this to me and when the manager came over she smiled at him and said, "We've got another one asking about the Nexus." This thing is coming guys, just a few more days. :)

It's probably not cancelled, but their behavior with this phone has been extremely weird.

1) The press release announcing the phone was released late on a Friday afternoon.
2) Not a single official word besides the above
3) Delay after delay... not just of a release, but of a release ANNOUNCEMENT
4) Ambiguous wording on VZWSupport's twitter suggesting that they were "still on track" to "announce" the release of the phone this year (a departure from their official press release).

No one can be sure of exactly what is going on, but if history is a good indicator of the future, I would say there is no reason to expect this phone anytime soon.

The sims are in store and not in the boxes so it would be simple to give a new one once someone comes in to buy a phone.

Hey Verizon,

If you would take all of our monies in this forum in exchange for some Galaxy Nexus devices, maybe you could help improve that network issue you are having :p

But seriously, take my monies!!

How have broken federal law by not installing an app on their device? It's not like the windows issue where you are pretty much forced to use their OS if you want a computer... you can pay any way you like, they (may have) chosen not to support a product that they feel is inferior.

Ugh no more Skyrim talk. You guys are making me jealous. I made the stupid mistake of putting it on my Christmas list, so now I'll get in trouble if I buy it...
