Ive been with this forum since long before Hong Kong and remember the G+ convo that was leaked right before the announcement. This has been the epitamy of a roller coaster between the original ICS announcement delayed and everything else in between the current "delay" but one rock solid thing has been Steven along the way. Dude you deserve it more than anyone in this thread. Congrats!

You guys are amazing too btw. That is one of the coolest gestures ive seen and people hardly get to witness such a good faith present like that!

Now let's go Verizon and launch this damn phone to the public!

This along with other internet chatter and what P3 actually tweeted earlier about being investigated makes me believe that Verizon is seriously cracking down on leaks. I'm starting to wonder if all this isn't just because they want the control over the release and the information that goes out about it.

On top of all that there are the CYA issues for VZW related to the legal mess they could be in if the C-Block rules and Google Wallet theory holds any weight. There is a possibility they are trying to decide whether it would be in there best interest to make that available on release and are thinking of holding release a tiny bit just to make that happen. They really aren't supposed to be controlling devices and software available on them in the extreme way they have with LTE devices technically. The more that leaks about just how much of such things they do the more liability they put themselves in to actually be force into allowing all sorts of things with devices they would rather avoid(basically getting forced to allow all devices be unlockable and no control over tethering and the like).

I don't think they want their control of devices and whats on them to start to fall apart, but Google may be doing some things behind the scenes to force them into it without totally breaking down the relationship they have overall or causing a big public legal suit related to the FCC rules.

This is exactly what I'm thinking also. That, or Verizon "delayed" it from the 9th and will give an official announcement of the release next week under their terms, not leaked terms.
 
Hey guys ive been lurking around here for about 2 weeks now and ive gotta say.. This forum is what allows me to get up and go every morning.lol. But, my main reasonfor coming out of lurkdom is to share my corp store story. I called them up and asked if they were gonna have the nexus this friday. This guy sounded like a new guy or something cause he just came out and said its coming tomorrow right before another coworker stepped. I heard another guy next to him say:"no!no! Next week." he sounded like he was whispering and the guy on the phone got all nervous and kinda stuttered. I know that we now have at least a hundred of these stories but i just wanted to feel like i contributed to this massive thread.

now about the P3 situation. Lets not forget how many times he said he went into VZW stores gloating trying to find accessories for the G Nex. I really do think that at times he got a little bit too Lax about having a device. Whom ever gave him and TBH those devices must really trust him. There is probably a lot more to it than we know. I've been around such incidents as this before involving other genre's of tech. People get greedy and try to make a dollar on something that isn't their's. That never works out. Donations are one thing but "asking" for money to access this or that is diff. anyways i'll stop now.

Welcome to our family and thanks for the story. As many times as we hear them it's always good to know everyone is trying to find out the best info we can.

Congrats Steven, and what a nice gesture by all those involved. While I have only contributed a few posts to this thread, I have spent so many hours reading this thread, so thanks to Steven (and the other mods) for making this possible!
