Yeah, I agree, crackdown. I wonder if when they told Han's rep about it, the rep was like, this is BS, I am not going to tell customers a lie, and was shown the door.

Verizon has no confidence in its ability to keep to a release date (and rightly so!) so rather than announce the date and then announce a change, they're staying silent till the last minute.

I know, wishful thinking on my part, but sometimes the speculation is half the fun for me. As I said, it's on the way to class, and I have to be there anyways so I might as well stop in for that 1 in a million chance
 
Hey guys,
Just speculating here, but haven't we been hearing 'Silent Launch' for quite a while now? If this is what Verizon has been planning all along - then the leaks/blog press shows tomorrow as the day and their plans are foiled - wouldn't all of today's chaos be a brilliant way of proceeding with a silent launch tomorrow? I mean how many readers of this forum are going to go to the dealer tomorrow if the general consensus is that next week is it. They could be feeding different stories to different CSR's/departments simply to confound the whole situation. Would it make ANY business sense to release less than a week before christmas (or even after)? Brilliant marketing if they really do want a silent launch.
Just saying....
 
ok so today i went to my Verizon store where a very good friend of mine is the General Manager there...

he got the demo training unit of the back of the store for me and let me have about 30 mins playing with the phone and and let me take a few pictures but no videos the pictures that contain no incriminating evidence will be posted by steven58 when he gets back he is going to phanrdroid bran the pictures so we get all the credit for it and i was told information about the release at least here in the state of Virginia and DC area

How do you mean? Verizon is ALWAYS tight lipped about phones. They want to release it on their own terms when they want without much communication until the last minute. They really do want the utmost in control when releasing their devices.
 
I just got off the phone with my cellular provider that was running around with one of the higher-ups (his words) in Verizon yesterday. He ordered 6 phones from the Verizon corporate office and they will be in his store tomorrow. Because of the knowledge that I fed him over the past months (I informed him of the phone's existence before October 17th) and the fact that I have completely harassed (not really) him with emails, 3 of those phones are mine (wife, buddy and me). He obtained all my needed information (account password, SS#) so that he could go ahead and assign me a SIM(s) and throw it in the phone(s) to await activation. WOOT!

He said that the delay has nothing to do with the LTE issue and EVERYTHING to do with the botched software update. He also said that they are feverishly working on a fix and that tomorrow is unlikely, BUT possible. They want this phone out as badly as we want it. He threw out Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday as possible release dates.
