I have a question about the phones that will be upgraded to ICS eventually, especially the Razr and Rezound. One of the great features (to me) of ICS is the lack of dedicated buttons and how they disappear when watching video, rotate and whatever else they do. For all other phones that already have dedicated buttons, what happens to these? Will they still get the disappearing ICS buttons, and have two sets? Or will the skins eliminate the buttons built into ICS? Not that anyone knows for sure, but what are the thoughts on this?

Sad to hear about VT. No one should have to go through that once, nonetheless twice.

No need. The human brain is a marvel of design (yes, design).

Try it:

And until A.I. can do this as well, there is no way it can be compared to a human level intelligence!

I think I'm going to go pick up the extended battery and cover just so I don't get any funny ideas about straying to another device before the Nexus comes out.

WRONG. Hanette confirmed its all just the big wigs stalling. That was a couple of weeks ago, don't blame you for not seeing it but to believe anything is wrong with this phone other than bureaucracy is simply not true. Anything strong enough to hold back a release this late would have also held up the GSM version in every other country. Hell the GSM version had that volume button bug and Google in their infinite wisdom didn't catch it (We Americans don't use that European frequency, but they should have at least tested all scenarios in the Google/Samsung Labs) and still released it. That would have been a showstopper if caught during Samsung/Google's initial testing.

Thats my belief and based on what Han's sister said I'm sticking to that.
If you read my post again, you'll notice I said something was seriously wrong with the RELEASE of the phone, not the phone itself. Something is holding them back, and it's not something trivial.

It'll recognize if a phone has buttons already and will just work like it has before, you won't see the soft buttons.

The makers flip a build switch, the soft buttons go away, the hard buttons continue to work - no duplication.

They will be disabled and you won't ever see them. Its in the code

Anyone else think / hope this is a Google Wallet issue?

Would you be annoyed if Wallet delayed the phone til the 15th, but the OTA when you got the phone installed it on your phone?

I would be less annoyed I think.

I want to urge folks here to calm down and think things over. Sure we're edgy, but why attack each other? Why are we getting upset?

Consider the news. At Virginia Tech there are at least two families with one less member in them. I can't imagine the grief. My prayers go for the families.

Our agitation is over a phone. Come on, guys. Let's get some perspective and get our priorities straight. No more attacking each other.

I want to thank Early for taking this over, while I was away at the Fedex store. I know you are having an exceptionally busy day and don't really have the time for this, so I feel bad for not being here, and want to apologize to you.

To fellow members:

No more attacking each other under this line. If something bothers you, report it, don't attack it as you'll only get infracted. We don't want to do that and don't particularly take any joy in doing that. Thank you.

Love line >----------------------------------------------------------------------

Love one another only below. :D

I'm sure a computer A.I. could do it. The 1st and last are always in the same place and the length is the same. All it needs is a context algorithm and a dictionary with possible words to try and fit in there.

Well anything she does get is pure hearsay. But she did say that nobody she's talked to directly sees any reason for the delay. Does this mean that there is no good reason? Not necessarily. There might be a huge problem that we don't know about.

But the fact they so many have shipped already, it's hard to believe that a huge hardware or software problem is to blame.

Also, someone here said that the 4G outage happened after the December 9 date disappeared from the equipment guide. So it can't be that, either.

I, too, think it's "corporate strategy" for some reason.

How does a lack of hard-wired buttons affect navigation in the recovery? We lose a back button right?

Anyone feeling like a child caught in the middle of a divorce and feeling like you have to chose a parent's side? I picture Google as mommy and VZW as daddy.

I just remembered a dream I had last night ... I was in a store and heard that they had Galaxy Nexus accessories. (But not the phone itself.) I went and found a car dock that looked pretty cool, but after I opened it I was really disappointed. It was this weird, folding monstrosity that fit over the center console or something, and it was clearly too big for my car.

After I woke up I remembered the pictures we've seen of the real car dock, which is sleek and streamlined, and felt an enormous sense of relief.

I'm a little worried about what this says about me ... that I would be dreaming not about the Nexus, about about Nexus accessories.

I would be annoyed :mad::mad::mad:

I see no reason to delay a phone only to have a OTA update a few days later that allows one application to work.

Doubtful, I don't think you delay something entirely for something that doesn't affect how it performs on Verizons network, especially when it can be added via OTA or in the Market. I would just like a phone that works all the time at this point, and at this point I might as well get the Nexus since it could be here ANY DAY.
