I've been following this thread for a while, my first time posingt here. I thought I would share what I was told at my local verizon store today (not a corporate store). the Manager told me his wearhouse received their shippment in today, and the store will be receiving them on Monday. He told me that he will be able to sell them as soon as he has them in.

I work next to the store, and I know the manager fairly well, so I don't think he would flat out lie to me, but he may jsut be misinformed about being able to sell them immediately...

Either way I'll be back there at 9 on Monday morning...

Well, the problem with that is, it would highlight to Verizon an error was made, and I am sure they would crack down hard on the store, manager, and employee. No the best thing would be to get the manager's word that his returning of the phone will bring everything back to status quo ante. It never happened. No punishment to the employee, as the condition of returning it. If it had manager approval originally, I would maybe hold out for a free accessory bundle or something, if it was his job at risk...

Actually the prudent thing would have been not to trick an unknowing sales person into selling you a device you pretty much knew was not supposed to be sold. IMO.

and no I'm not bitter about Urban. He was a great coach for us, not surprised he went back to OSU. IMO he is spent though, but he will give it a go. All the coaches that helped him become successful are somewhere else so we will see what happens.

I hate to admit it, but this year ya might be right. Not a lot of confidence in our coaching staff this year. But how do you figure Meyer is spent, he's 47! Lol he's coming into his prime and as far as people around him, pretty sure OSU will give him whatever budget he needs to assemble a staff.

Yeah, I'm under the impression that ISIS would work just fine on the battery and so would beam, which means NFC is in place on the phone. It shouldn't be a hardware issue but a legal and software issue.

Absolutely! I watched the entire live press conference a few weeks back. I'm excited to see what kind of coaching staff Urban brings in as well as his crazy recruiting ability. Good times to come!

I know at least 2 VZW employees who would testify they have no knowledge of the 15th or any date in particular. More lies from droid life.
 
I'm feeling good about the 15th though.

Anyone else planning out docks and homescreen icon layouts? I have been trying to figure out what my dock is going to look like, so far I think I might do:
Contacts, SMS, APPS, Browser, Google Folder

Anyone else?

I went in to the store today and my buddy that works there said he had them in the back but couldn't sell them yet. He asked his manager about it and she said no. He said "Is it the 12th?" and she said "No, we got another email that said the 15th". So looking good for the 15th, but really not holding my breathe on that one either.
 
Folks, the phone is not getting canceled. Lets stop that speculation now. All that's going to do is get people even more riled up and emotional. Its delayed. Not canceled. If they start recalling shipments, then we have something to be concerned about.

I wouldn't call them lies, they are just reporting what they have been told. But I wouldn't call it fact either.

"Target" seems like an appropriate word to use with any rumored dates from now on.
 
I wouldnt call the 15th anymore final as any of the other dates that we've heard. I definitely believe that it's a target, but no more than that.

I disagree. The way I see it, you've got to look long-term. When he returns the phone, assuming the salesperson doesn't get fired, he now has a friend for life. Guess who will probably have one held for him when it does come out? SamMax. Who will probably get discounts on accessories? SamMax. Who will be able to sleep tonight because he did his best to not screw over someone who made a mistake for his benefit? SamMax.
