If I could speak to the person who made the decision to delay I would have some very nice words for them that I wont say now because it will probably get me banned.

A few days ago, I sent a message to VZW on their website regarding my disappointment at how their systems work. I was having adding a line for my foster daughter and getting a fruit phone to switch to my husband's account so my foster daughter could have his DX. I can't get an iPhone in a VZW store, and they will NOT ship to my work address. VZW will only ship to my home address, and I refuse to leave a $650 phone sitting on my porch all day for someone to steal.

Anyhoo, they called me this morning and I told them I already went to the Apple store last night and took care of that issue. So when they asked me if there was anything else they could help me with, I said "Well, no, unless you can tell me when the Galaxy Nexus will be released." He laughed and said they had gotten quite a few calls about that. I went on to tell him I felt bad for the CSRs for bearing the brunt of this fiasco and asked him to take some feedback back to whomever needed to hear it. I told him that my personal issue with this launch is that we were told "sign up to get more info", and we did, and we got nothing. Verizon has been so silent and secretive that it's lead to nothing but speculation and frustration that could have been easily avoided if Verizon had just come out and said "We're planning to release the phone on xx/xx/xx. If something changes, we'll let you know as soon as that decision is made." He completely agreed - on this call that may be monitored or recorded for quality purposes - that this phone launch was a disaster, and the lack of communication was a driving force in creating the mess it has become. I delivered this feedback in a manner that was calm, not accusatory or threatening, and that simply stated "this is how I WISH Verizon had handled it". He thanked me for the feedback and said he would send it to the powers that be. Whether it truly gets to whoever needs to hear it...who knows. Whether it will do any good even if it does...probably not. But I feel better having said my peace.

Anyone else contemplating setting up camp at your local corporate store? Occupy Verizon? I was, until I remembered that I have a job. I guess that's what separates me from the Occupy Wall Street protesters. Well that and that I shower daily and don't do drugs.

Guys, WE ARE THE 99%...that do not own a Galaxy Nexus.
It does not separate you from the #OWS protesters. You are part of the 99% whether or not you have a job. I hardly think that all the protesters do drugs and don't shower. #occupyverizon is a comical idea on a serious subject.

Would like to know if people start getting these today if they are mostly going out through premium resellers or what variety of store. Guessing corp store sales are on lock down, but seems there are a few types of third party stores and if I go looking for one later would like to know which third party store types are most likely to have them and be willing to sell.

A friend of mine is a regional manager for Verizon and told me that he hasn't been given a definite reason why the phone is delayed but he believes it's all due to Verizon trying to push the Droid line. He said the Galaxy Nexus is just another phone to them and so it's no big deal to push it back to help sale more Droids. He said some of the stores have had the phones for over a week now though.

Denied! I had the phone in my hand and it activated ready to go. Since it wasn't in Best Buys computer system they couldn't check me out and we had to reverse everything.

I am so depressed now.

That sucks!!

:(

On the bright side, is anyone else happy that openyoureyes (or whatever his name was) isn't around anymore to repeat and "confirm" all the disappointment we have already experienced?

I don't understand why so many people are going to the iphone instead of the rezound. Neither phone advances a ton over previous android or iphone OS devices, but if you had an android phone before, what makes the latest iphone so much more exciting than the rezound. When I held the htc phone, I got the sense that I was holding something newer, different, when I hold an iphone it's like the same thing that has been out for years, but that's just my opinion.

Playing with the Nexus spoiled the Rezound for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Incredible and I love Android. But it lacks in a lot of areas, a lot of areas that ICS has caught up and even surpassed it. I LOATHE Sense with everything that I am, and I have no desire to wait for Moto (who has already stated 4-6 months before they update their handsets) and HTC (who will probably be longer) to get the ball rolling with ICS updates. That, plus the fact that neither phone is unlocked and is looking more and more like that is a permanent change, drops me to only two choices, the Nexus or the 4S. Given my dilemma, the 4S will have to do. This doesn't mean that I won't sell it and buy a Nexus outright though.

I REALLY hope I'm wrong about this, but I have this funny feeling, and its getting stronger everyday that the Rezound isn't unlocked, that the Nexus will be the last Android phone with an un-lockable bootloader on Verizon. There is no benefit to me for Android when compared to iOS if this is the case.

Was in my local store a few minutes ago. My buddy grabbed the demo Nexus from the back and I got to check it out for a few minutes. Very nice phone. Thinner than I expected and feels very nice in my hands. ICS is very smooth. He wasn't able to give me any new release date at the time.

i'm not much on ultimatums, but i said this during the thunderbolt release and it fits this discussion just as well. every week you wait now is another week you have to wait for your next phone as well. if the phone had released here the same time as it did in the UK, you would already be close to a month into your new contract, and a month closer to a future upgrade. :(

I had considered this too. Just out of curiosity, for anyone that is renting an R and then exchanging it for the Nexus upon release, is their upgrade eligible two years from the day they got the R or the Nexus?
