A few days ago, I sent a message to VZW on their website regarding my disappointment at how their systems work. I was having adding a line for my foster daughter and getting a fruit phone to switch to my husband's account so my foster daughter could have his DX. I can't get an iPhone in a VZW store, and they will NOT ship to my work address. VZW will only ship to my home address, and I refuse to leave a $650 phone sitting on my porch all day for someone to steal.
Anyhoo, they called me this morning and I told them I already went to the Apple store last night and took care of that issue. So when they asked me if there was anything else they could help me with, I said "Well, no, unless you can tell me when the Galaxy Nexus will be released." He laughed and said they had gotten quite a few calls about that. I went on to tell him I felt bad for the CSRs for bearing the brunt of this fiasco and asked him to take some feedback back to whomever needed to hear it. I told him that my personal issue with this launch is that we were told "sign up to get more info", and we did, and we got nothing. Verizon has been so silent and secretive that it's lead to nothing but speculation and frustration that could have been easily avoided if Verizon had just come out and said "We're planning to release the phone on xx/xx/xx. If something changes, we'll let you know as soon as that decision is made." He completely agreed - on this call that may be monitored or recorded for quality purposes - that this phone launch was a disaster, and the lack of communication was a driving force in creating the mess it has become. I delivered this feedback in a manner that was calm, not accusatory or threatening, and that simply stated "this is how I WISH Verizon had handled it". He thanked me for the feedback and said he would send it to the powers that be. Whether it truly gets to whoever needs to hear it...who knows. Whether it will do any good even if it does...probably not. But I feel better having said my peace.
