I am thinking about going to check the local store and when It's not being released getting a razr. Then returning it the next day because it doesn't fly through the air or summon giant robots like it does in the commercial. I wonder what the rep would think?

Can we just make sure we never put the next "confirmed" date in the thread title, please?

Already done.. sorry.. I stepped away in order to try to HAVE A LIFE!:rolleyes::p;):D

Whether it will do any good even if it does...probably not. But I feel better having said my peace.

Oh, they listen. Believe me, the do listen. I complained about something and it was changed a month or two later.

What about Africa having a the Galaxy Nexus, is deserving of ridicule?

It's not deserving of ridicule. IMO I think its just surprising that it would show up there before here. I mean Google's headquarters is in the US you would just think that we would have it ya know.

And correct me if I'm way off mark but Africa just doesn't strike me of a country that would be at the front lines of new technology... but that's just my opinion.

My 3 little girls make me the brokest and the richest man all at the same time.

Same here. I have 3 kids and wouldn't trade them for any amount of money. My single friends and couples with no kids talk/brag about having money and how kids suck all your money all the time. But what they fail to realize is when you have kids, your priorities change. You don't care so much about it anymore. As long as I have enough for me and my family to live comfortably with perhaps a little extra to have some toys and take vacations and stuff every once in a while, I'm good.

Well after I saw Sam's post about getting one I quickly jumped in the shower and rushed out to try to get one, spoiler alert, I didn't get one.

First Stop: Authorized Retailer, the girl was very friendly and when I asked if they had the Galaxy Nexus in stock she told me they did not but she could order one for me and it'd be there in 2 days. I of course was fine with her checking on this, she called her manager or store owner and asked if she could place an order for one, she got off the phone and told me she couldn't but that the phone is coming out on the 15th, just like everyone has been saying.

Second Stop: I went into Best Buy, waited for 10 minutes as per corporate policy to have terrible customer service. After which I asked if they had an Galaxy Nexus' in stock and he asked me "for Verizon?" It was a no go there as well, and I didn't get any kind of new information.

Third Stop: I went into Walmart, asked the same question as Best Buy she simply said "no" and then I was out of there.

Fourth Stop: I went into Radio Shack really hoping I could get this phone here since there were plenty of leaks that they were getting shipments. He told me with a sense of pride that he works at Radio Shack, almost like he was the king of batteries, "the phone hasn't even been launched yet" I then asked when it would be launched and he thought for a moment and said "Sunday."

Last Stop: I went into the actual corporate store and I didn't even bother asking if I could buy one, I just walked into told the guy I was just going to play around with the RAZR and Rezound (my first time) and then asked if he might by chance have that phone that keeps getting delayed sitting around. He knew what I was talking about and said he had a demo unit I could see and went to go look for it. He came back and said he couldn't find it, so my store seems to have lost their demo unit. Oh well though, it's no big deal, I wasn't impressed at all by the RAZR or Rezound so I'm more than happy with waiting.

Honestly I think the best chance of getting this phone today is by going into an Authorized Retailer, I don't think these employees have been informed of the delay and if they have any in the back there is a good chance you could snag one.

I wish everyone the best of luck trying to get one today, I'm going to watch Breaking Bad for the rest of the day I think.

why is anyone surprised negri electronics didnt get their shipment when their "source from vzw" told them they would get them. i unfollowed their "follower begging scam" right after i realized they know nothing more than any of us do. i said this a couple weeks back when we started hearing the 8th/9th then suddenly they heard the same info... look at their track record. look at how their gsm launch went, delay after delay then had to ask for more money from people who had already paid for their phones.

Whew, this is really addicting. Everytime I hit F5, *poof* more posts appear. It is like those dreams where you run, but you can't run fast enough. I could do this all day. :)

But, it kinda makes me feel like this guy (note: not suitable for work...

...but may also represent how you feel about work).

Gawd, you guys are making me a little dewy eyed today :)

Best Buy, RadioShack, Costco, etc.

There are also VZW stores call "premium retailers" and one other name I can't recall that are 3rd parties probably a lot more likely to sell. Particularly full retail where they don't have to worry about VZW incentive cash to make money related to subsidy pricing.

Costco won't even sell full retail and Best Buy charges more than the phone is worth for full retail cause that's what they make for subsidized phones once VZW cash for contract sales are included.

Yeah a premium retailer is what I went to when they said whenever they receive stock, I can buy one. If I hear anything, you know this will be the first place I report to.

Called the store that I will be buying it from here in DFW....

The first thing the lady says was...

Lady: Are you interested in the new iphone 4s?
Me: Uhhh no.
Lady: What can i help you wiff ?
Me: (acting dumb) I was wondering if you had any Galaxy Nexusesus left in stock, I'd like to come pick one up today.
Lady: No, sorry the release date is on the 15th
Me: I know other stores have received them already and they are waiting to be released, is it the same for your store?
Lady: Yes and you can come in and get one on the 15th.
Me: Can I preorder now or reserve it or anything?
Lady: No, you just have to come in on the 15th.
Me: Ok thx bye.

Welp, there ya go, add that to the list of stories.

You know, we may not agree on corporate ethics... but I sure like your attitude on family. :)

Remember when everyone was astonished why Apple would chose ATT over Verizon? Hmmm...

When Sprint and ATT catch up on the LTE, VZW customers will leave in droves.

I appreciate a lot of your opinions in this is thread but you are so far off base here I felt I had to respond. First off, Apple chose Verizon over AT&T for the phone. After lists of talks failed, it was Verizon who told Apple to go take a hike.

Secondly, it is wishful thinking on your part to think people are suddenly going to leave the largest and undisputed most reliable network. Facts don't lie and Verizon not only has the best customer retention rate, but they are also growing faster than their competition.
