They sell those phones ON contract because Verizon asks them to. If VZW blacklisted the GNex as far as contracts go, BB would still carry it as full retail.

I can confirm that BB (at least at the BB mobile near me) employees were told to lie about the stock and availability. In my story 5 pages back I mentioned how right when I asked about it she checked for me and said that they were not to discuss the phone, but they neglected it and went ahead and let me play with it.

BB and others most likely wouldn't carry since not many people will pay full retail for it. But you Mr. All Knowing I will not reply anymore since you are always right....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I just think its extremely selfish to go to a store and try and get a phone early knowing that they arent supposed to sell it and knowing they will probably lose their job because of it. Yes i know the one person called corporate and they told them not to sell it and they did anyway, which means that person probably shouldnt have a job anyway but they wouldnt have been put in that position if the person hadnt gone in and asked in the first place knowing full well they werent supposed to sell it.

A couple of reasons I have no problem with it. Early phone purchases happen all the time. ReZound and Incredible to name a couple I know of. If it was so SUPER important that these phones aren't given to the public, they never should've been shipped yet. It's Verizon's corporate mismanagement that brought this on.

If I got a GNex, would I shout from the mountaintops that Joe from Store 53 sold it to me? No. But I have no problem with people asking if they can purchase this phone.

Yup, they're all lying, every RS store, every BB store, every Costco, every VZW Corporate and non-corporate store, all of them. But yet these same chains tell other people in other parts of the country that they are in stock but can't sell them. If that makes sense to you than fine.

Sorry, to me it simply means that this part of NY didn't get them yet. I don't know why some find this so hard to believe or think this is such a conspiracy. Hell, what's the big deal for a store to say 'we have them, but sorry, we can't sell them until VZW gives us the green light'.

A couple of guys I called I've dealt with before and happen to trust them.

Yep, just called a BB mobile specialty store nearby and the guy said he's not allowed to disclose information, I asked about demo units and he said he can't tell me that... it's really annoying how the only option at this point is to actually go to the stores in real life and see if they have it.

Or maybe the stores you go to don't want to risk their jobs or people continuously asking about it?

There's a store like this in Joliet mall...I should try calling them to see what they say about it. I called a few Radio Shacks near me and was told they haven't received their shipment yet...LIARS!
 
When this phone is finally released, if I end up getting it from the store, I'm going to insist that they bring me out a sealed box and I get to open it. It's really cool for those that get to go in and play with them, but I feel sorry for the slob that ends up with the phone that someone was fondling for a half hour. I know I wouldn't want that one....
 
I know you have heard it a million times before but I got to play with a nexus today at a verizon corporate store. It wasn't actually on display but one of the employees was using it as his phone for the day. Same story with the release, they didn't know when but they did have stock. The damn phone is beautiful. The screen is gorgeous and web pages on it are stunning. If I wasn't sure about waiting for this phone, I am now. Gave them my number and they will call me when they get news. Hope it is soon.

Hey hey hey. Fake wrestling is not a sport, don't hate on the real wrestling and athletes in general. pretty sure you wouldn't tell hs and college wrestlers that wrestling isn't a sport...
