are using the android kitchen? its reall good for cooking ROMs with.

Yea I can hook ya up with some links on setting up to build for android. Github is a great source of help info too ;).

which rom did you download... i posted a new one just yesterday 12092011

You have to go to Settings>Wireless and networks> and enable wifi

Right on, thanks for the dirty port! Been using Mate35 since PG hooked it up and have everything set to my preferences. Only issues I've had are battery usage and low internal memory(even with apps on sd). So on to this new port. Seems to be running really well with almost all internal memory free for "super speed". Now to my question... sort of. I want everything in landscape, all apps and setting menus and such, no rotation. I can't remember how i got this to be in mate35 other than DL'ing ADW, which this port has. I'm brain farting today and would appreciate help in this area. Thanks in advance as I'm sure this is a simple issue to overcome.
 
Does the kernel with this port of CM7 allow for overclocking? The slowness and lag of the phone is annoying for my wife.

Unless PG changed it then yes. On the Ascend the 0913 build overclocks to 710mhz and the 0912 over clocks to 748mhz
 
Hello, just got this phone about a month ago... I have learned alot this being my first android...

Few questions concerning CM7 on the m835 in general...
First- on both the builds based off of the ascend there is a graphic glitch with the highlight when selecting something, is everyone here also seeing that? or is it just me? (It doesn't happen on the official one by PG)
Secondly- Does anybody know why the sound is very muttery at high volumes? This happens on both of the CM7 roms (by PG & dirtyport of the ascend rom)...

Also the animations feel a lil sluggish, but thats not a big issue.
Everything else is working pretty great so thank you guys for all your work :]
 
Already i have cooked up annother version of my M835 'dirty' Port

This port uses the 710mhz kernel by default, as does 1.0
I will release 1.2 on the 748mhz kernel and 710mhz kernel

INSTALL NOTES
For those of you saying your google search widget is busted, simple fix. just install Gapps right after you install the custom rom.Do not restart before installing Gapps.. or the widget will send a force close. Once you install Gapps in Clockwork Mod Recovery go to advanced>fix permissions..

all should be good.. let me know if you find any strange bugs..

Still working on the blank camera screen when taking pictures. think it has to do with the Kernel.. could be as simple as the Camera_client.so

BTW: I CAN CONFIRM BATTERY LIFE IS GREATLY INCREASED, ALMOST 50%
FACEBOOK WORKS, JUST DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE APK MANUALLY.
MOST APPS WILL WORK, SCREEN DENSITY ISSUE IS NO MORE

There is nothing i can about the sound. thats just the speaker in the phone.. did that even on the stock rom an hour after i purchased this phone.

Far as the graphics glitch. i know what it is caused by, but iam still working on a fix for that, and the blank camera screen

Are you downloading from your phone? Is it giving you an error code or anything? What exactly does it say?
 
anybody ever try a multi -touch kernel with these roms? i kno it works w/o flaw on dronix, but its 2.2.2 n kills ur data,
any1 can help me figure out how to tweak it so it works out?

that would require editing the driver src in the kernel src and recompiling the kernel and adding the xml permissions file to system/etc/permissions.

Remember their was an incompatibility with some apps such as facebook with your version because of screen density?

Did the dirtyport fix this problem and can you confirm that the official Facebook app works on it?

I wanna stick with this ROM and not switch back to Mate35 (Awesome ROM). the benefits of CM7 are well worth it

ah yea, that I dont know lol, wouldnt think FB would make the app not work on smaller resolutions, but who knows with them lol

all my roms are pre rooted.
the wifi scanning does not lower radius, just how often it searches for networks.

and i havent tried the bar code scanner
 
Just FYI camera apps such as bar code scanners would crash the camera on CM7 on the Ascend and was never able to be fixed.

speaking of camera, if any of you can help solve this issue we will have a near perfect port. iam still kind of baffled over why the screen on the camera is blank, but it still take pictures just fine.. this is the next issue i want to tackle.. ideas are welcome..
