Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 Huawei M835

Can someone. Please explain to me what zipaligned is? And why everytime I flash or backup a rom it tells me I don't have a sd-ext ,not in those exact words but it says something like "backing up sd-ext and then says its skipping that cause there's no such. Drive? Please Derek Or PG help me or anyone that knows what im talking. About and. Btw I got the 710mhz flashed onto. My phone but as soon as it booted it started to instal all types of apps on my phone and not fully rebooting but it would go back to the skate boarding android after it installed each app and on top of all that when it stoped doing that loop after instal thing all the apps it said it was installing weren't even on my phone

But besides the bullshit. Can some please answer the questions I asked in this post and I would greatly apprixiate it like what is zipalign, how can I fix the sd-ext thing and why. It dud that when It first booted after I flashed the 710 MHz rom. And it wont let me use my Google widget or download Facebook off the market. Thank you to whoever takes the time to answer the most likely noob questions.
 
this is a E-mail I wrote to a friend but its basically me explaining it a bit different for people who didn't understand the first post
I got the 710 MHz to flash onto my phone but when it booted up for the first time it started installing programs that I used to have but haven't had in A while and my educated guess on why or should I say where It got these programs from is from them being stored on my SD card through titanium backup And everytime it would install one of these programs it would boot back To the skateboarding Droid and do the same thing over and over again for about ten times. And then it stopped but none of the programs that it repitisiously installed were in my apps. And then I tried to personalize my desktop And I went to go download Facebook from the market and it wouldn't let me,there wasent even a button that said download on the Page of any sort. And maybe because I have no idea what zipalign is might have a part of why I have no idea what's going on with my phone when I flash the zipalign roms to my phone .So maybe if its not to complicated to explain to me u could do me that favor. zipalign | Android Developers

the sd-ext error you are getting is because you dont nor will anyone else have sd-ext until they partition their sdcard for it. sd-ext is where android will install your user apps when used. the sd-ext uses a linux format so it can read/write faster to it verses a dir on the sdcard in the vfat format.
 
Thank you PG. I know it would be either you or the person I emailed it to that would help me because yous were the only two that ever have even thou I still don't understand. Sd-extra and zipalign fully I.at have a small understanding at least.but I'm guessing since you don't own a m 835 you probably can't help me out with the problems I've been having with the new dirty ports. As they call them. So hopefully my other friend can help mevout with that but at least I have a very small understanding of sd-ext and zipalign I wont look at the computer screen like it has 6 heads now ill look at it more. Like. 4 heads. But. If u can help Mr with my dirty port problems .
 
When I changed my SD card way back when I difmd partition it and I swore I created a sd-ext file but I hissed not. Weird thing is If i search sd-ext there is a sd-ext file in my phone.

I'm running Mate5 at the moment on my M835 at 600 Mhz Should I go with the CM7 710 Mhz rom? I mean would I see a speed difference by that much? Plus is the Notification bar black? I'm just trying to figure out what one would be better lol I know I'll have to sacrifice my bar code scanner with CM7 apparently along with a camera preview as well. But If it runs alot faster and smoother then I'd go for it. So if someone could let me know what would be better that would be great.
 
So the Android Market or the Syncing to the Gmail servers don't work ether? :/ On the 710 Mhz rom? Just downloaded the Market the APK and it installed but when I open it, It asks if I want to add a account I say yes then it quits and does nothing...Then when I try to Sync the phone to my Google account, It can't connect to the Google servers apparently and yes I have connection...any ideas?

"Setup Could not finish: Unable to open connection to server"
 
Nvm, Figured it out.

One last problem, Can't seem to get landscape mode to work at all. Anyway to fix?
and the battery gets drained after a few minutes of use and I'm only overclocked 33 mhz any idea on what is causing this issue and how to fix it? Thanks
 
I'm probably going to get ignored as usual but can someone please answer my damn questions? How to fix landscape mode and how to get Youtube working? I keep getting a white screen with only audio. I updated RockPlayer. Still same issue. If I download the video from TubeMate Then use Software mode on RockPlayer I can WATCH it. But I have a stupid "R" logo at the top of the screen. Along with the video being extremely out of sync with the audio... >:/

try MX video player the out of sync with the audio is something i can't help at but seem better than using rockplayer.
 
Hello, someone can help me?, Don't appear APN settings on the phone and therefore I can not configure it, I hope that someone can help me and say how to solve this. Thanks
 
Is it possible to build a rom off of a cwm backup?
Flash 11 doesn't work on my 2.2, and cwm always fails to mount SD_ext even though I have partitioned.?
 
thank you fo r the evolution of this thread from September of 2010! --

1) when I use clockwork manager, I select ascend - and then backup current rom, how long does that take? it just stays at the boot screen.

2) these custom roms by pg and on the wiki, is mate better or the cm7 and how do I back up and install the new ones - from the root of the sd?

3) is it advised to format sd before switching roms?

EDIT - got mate to work - it is faster than what I was using
 
I have been using the cm7 from December (page 5 in this thread I belive) and have gotten everything working -- there is no boot sound (which is ok) and I tried making. moving the build.prop file and an mp3 still nothing. I was finally able to get gmail and things to sync, and the resolution (or lcd density is at 110) - the only thing I can't get to work is the camera - it will take pictures, just shows a blank white page. anyone know about this?
