***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

We all hope so, but unfortunately, I feel like the release of the nexus is like this paradox:

If you move exactly half the distance to your goal every step you take, do you ever reach your goal?
Of course. You stretched the ball over the goal line before your knee hit the ground silly. Just like Brandon Jacobs beating the Cowboys yesterday.

Forget the time, I want to know where it's 6 deg outside with a high of 7.

Definitely not here in MI, we've had a 'warm' winter so far this year... kinda odd. Only one little bit of snow in my area.. other areas got hit harder, but I haven't even gotten an inch yet.

The Galaxy Nexus will be out before the 4th Nexus!

Book it!!

My guess is that the upgrade is the annual upgrade on the line, and therefore can't be transferred. AFAIK, the main line can get an upgrade every 12 months, while other lines need to wait 20. So if they allowed you to transfer the earlier upgrade from the main line, then you'd be able to bypass the 20 month upgrade times on the other lines.

I'm the primary on our family plan. I was able to transfer my (last, *sob*) annual upgrade to my husband, once I realize he needed a phone more than me and that his 2 year upgrade 11/30/11 was going to happen before I got the Nexus lol. So anyway we swapped- he took the annual upgrade, and I'm taking his 2 year. So shouldn't be a problem.

The annual upgrade is gone, btw. They ended I think in January, so if you renewed your contract since then you won't get it anymore. :(

So is it still true that the TP is still on track for the 19th?

If so, my decision is very difficult, indeed.

I just spent $400 on snowboarding and ski gear. There's no way I'll be able to get both now.

looky what I just got via SMS from VZW

Linkfail, tho. It auto-detected my device as a G'Zone Commando. Lol!

Very interesting that they are acknowledging some people received the Nexus early. I'd say that pretty much kills the rumors the phone has been cancelled.

I wish I knew. Some people are quoting ASUS as saying it's shipping the week of the 19th, other people in forums are quoting ASUS, J&R, and that Canadian site as all saying delayed until 2012. Just one more thing to drive us nuts this year.

Although, putting it in perspective, since I dodged layoffs last month for the 2nd time in a year, I'm going to call this year a win either way. :)

I know. My thoughts are a see saw on this. To me it would be like when I flash a rom and have to do everything from scratch. So that's isn't even an issue. And what if *gasp* it turns out I don't like the phone. (highly unlikely but I haven't touched the unicorn yet so I don't have that 100% certainty that some others do) Then I have to lock it again. I'm just so torn.

Truthfully until I see a real influx useful ROMs i probably wont bother with unlocking/root. It's like when I was using cm7 on my Droid X, my whole reasoning was to get just a plain looking Gingerbread experience with no Blur.

Now I will have Android 4 as intended and will stay as such..

Then again a custom kernel with an Under Volt/OC option would be nice depending on how the battery performs.

If you really wanted GW (not sure why, but I'm not here to judge) you will prob be able to side load it once there are a few mods to it. GW is not the hold up no matter what you have heard or how many CSRs say so. Both VZW and Google knew about this issue well before the phone was sent out to stores and to blame the delay on that is ludicrous.

I don't know if I want GW I haven't used it  For the GSM version to have GW and for how long we Verizon customers have to wait is silly that we don't get to experience a "true Google experience" without having everything that Google made it to have... idk.

as much as i have read ASUS denied the delay that was reported by some canadian reseller. i hope it is still on. i have mine ordered thru newegg and cant wait for it as well as this nexus

Good luck with that...

If Sexy Rexy can "almost" beat him with a horrible Redskins team...I'll take Tebow and Co.

Wanna bet a Nexus on it :)

hey, hey, you have a Pats man here. Yes the Skins game was wierd but we're allowed a few squeek by's.

Next week will be a different story !!!!!!!!!

Lots of blogs were reporting that the TP was going to be delayed into 2012 due to "Wifi issues"; however, ASUS has officially denied this and said that the release is still on track.

my best guess would be 2 weeks from today......

That's when I'm saying too... I want it to be this week, but I don't see how it'd be smart to release something this close to xmas. But the day after xmas is almost like a Black Friday type day. Everyone seems to always have their money saved back up already...except me of course.

The GSM version does not have Google Wallet.

The only phone that has access to Google Wallet is the Sprint Nexus S 4G.

Google Wallet is NOT a part of the "true Google Experience". It is not in the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). It is a closed source app, developed by Google and given only to Sprint.

you mean they announces a date and they are sticking to it......what is this you speak of? And they actually adressed their customer base? What are they thinking!!!!

(Verizon might want to pay attention to this technique)

That's just it, just like everybody is quoting the guy who got the email from NCIX to say it's delayed, everyone is quoting The Verge to say it's not. And just like the Nexus release anecdotes, everybody seems to have one saying it's delayed or it's not delayed depending on who they talk to. So, long story short, nobody knows. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it gets here before Christmas.
