I'm at Michigan State, and that's exactly what I want to do! I know it'll be a slog trying to get a faculty position somewhere, but you have to go for it, right?

What was your experience like at Julliard?

It was years ago. We can talk sometime.. lots of stories.

Verizon, the big red grinch has really sapped the fun out of the holidays for me. Thinkin of getting a rezound and rockn out to some carols with dr dre and his beats.

Well I was thinking of maybe becoming a sort of electronic musician, whether it be for video games or being a part-time DJ or what have you. All I know is that I'm not passionate enough about CS to want to sit around and learn programming languages all day. And math is sometimes interesting but definitely not enough so for me to want to double major in that.

Please, do what you know you'll have fun doing. Half your friends can be rich, half can be poor, either way you'll be happy that you chose something that you enjoy.

The Droid charge is $149 now if you click on the 4G deals.
Bleh, they should be giving it away for free. In fact, they probably couldn't pay me to carry around a Charge for 18 months.

As for the rumors of a delay to the 20th, let's hope the morning shift doesn't freak out too much!

On a related note, that's it for me - night everyone. :)

SQUIRREL!!!

That sums up how I'm feeling about this whole launch. I feel like I'm chasing something that I can't catch. :D:(

A possible reason for the delays?

Google verizon and samsung are making spare F5 keys to ship with the device but Ironically the supplies for the injection molding machine kept needing refreshed

yes, that was bad. I know :D :p

Or maybe Verizon is compensating us for all the time spent on the forum, so they're shipping all Nexi with some time included in the box. That would explain why it's taking a while ;)

I'm going to be so PISSED off if a better device is released after we all get our GNex's.

Who thinks that it's going to happen? :p

Goodnight.

Anyways, I'm gonna head out now because it's 1 AM and I have school tomorrow (if I choose to go; being sick is such a mood-killer) :/

Good night!

I'm either looking to pursue music theory or computer science as my major. Not sure where that'll lead me but I have a deep abiding passion for both so either way will be good I guess. I plan on continuing clarinet through college, but probably not taking it as a major.

As a musician who went on to be a "soft" IP attorney (soft IP is copyright and trademark, hard IP is patent), let me give you some advice that I wish someone gave me in college:

To be an attorney, you have to go to law school and take a state's bar exam. To be a patent attorney and prepare patents, you must take the patent bar exam and be admitted to the patent bar. To take the patent bar exam, you have to have a technical background in certain areas, and a BS in computer science satisfies that requirement. The number of people with technical backgrounds who go on to law school is pretty low, as college pre-law offices generally encourage majors like poli sci and philosophy, so patent attorneys are extremely marketable with respect to both job opportunities and salaries. And with the direction we're moving with technology innovations and patent lawsuits, there will be tons of work for software patent attorneys.

Not sure if you have any interest at all in law school as it is time-consuming and costly, and I don't mean to preach, but just wanted to throw my thoughts out there.
