Ummmm wtf so my wife is on the phone with a csr right now preordering a nexus for me! Will update asap

ok, so heres the good and bad news...

the bad... of course, she wasnt able to preorder it

the good... ok, the original intent of the call was to get the $100 promo noted to her account also, since it was noted to mine last night. before hanging up, she asked the csr "do you happen to know anything about some nexus phone?"... he then proceeded to say yea, its supposed to be in stores VERY soon but i can let you pre-order it if you want right now. of course she said yes, and they started going through the order process. heres where it gets interesting. he told her that up until today the nexus was not even searchable in their system, meaning it had been removed from the search but that this morning at some point it is now back and searchable. he went though the whole order, added the phone to the "cart" i guess you would say, added an extended battery and proceeded to check out. this is where the hangup came. he said that after he had done all that, it wouldnt let him check it out through his system. it will let him add it to the order, and the battery, but its blocked from being actually closing the order and placing it through.

so imo even though she couldnt order it, the fact that the csr's can now see the item and find it in their system is GREAT NEWS. its coming guys, sooner than later!

sadly the car has been in the garage lately......been driving my civic to work ( thats no fun )....but would take it out to pick up sammy if that minnie mouse shirt would make a comeback :)

yea i went there....

OT:
Just to put this out there. There is a big difference between "hasn't seen Pulp Fiction" and "refuses to see Pulp Fiction". I would say that you can be a movie buff without seeing any particular movie. I would even say you can be a movie buff with refusing to see any particular movie. However, I would say that anyone that refuses to see a movie is close minded, movie buff or not.

OT: Movies
I would agree, but isn't it the same thing to come into an androidforum and say that people refused to buy the i*hone are close minded as well? So everyone in here is close minded?

Just because I don't want to see one of the greatest/best rated movies of all time doesn't make me close minded, just like people in here don't want an i*hone. It's strictly preference.

Or you could join a CrossFit gym and, you know, actually be in shape ;)

/shameless self promotion.

Nothing wrong with self promotion.

You are so awesome BB! If it doesn't work out with your other cyber-husband, (I don't leave my dirty underwear on pillows) can I be your alternate?

He's been awfully inattentive lately..... Looks like your chance might be soon. :D

That's twist worthy.

Matt Miller from zdnet.com has written several articles on the GN since he bought one a few weeks ago. One of the articles he just released: Galaxy Nexus camera: better than you may have heard (gallery) | ZDNet. Matt put up an image gallery comparing pictures he took with his iPhone 4s, Galaxy Nexus and a couple of other phones he has. He then rated them. Matt admits that he likes the iPhone, but he liked most of the pictures he took with the Nexus better than the ones he took with his i4S. Check out his article and you be the judge.

I personally think if you're going on vacation or any occasion where you want nice pictures, you should use a standalone camera anyway. In the meantime, when you're out and about, the Nexus camera should work well if you don't have your standalone with you.

Wow, that article made me feel much better about the camera in the Nexus. The iPhone 4s is supposed to be the gold standard for mobile device cameras, and some of its pictures looked just plain awful, like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree one for example. The pictures from the Nexus look great in all of them.

Anyone interested in Google Schemer?

We've Got a Boatload of Schemer Invites to Give Away | Lifehacker

Looks like a Google+ account is required, though.

Thank you. Not sure why his turned out so much better than others with similar competing phones, but they definitely did. Exposure, white balance, and general feel of the pictures was MUCH better than I had seen in similar shoot offs. I'm actually guessing detail isn't too far off either.

EDIT: Dynamic Range seems to be VERY good also.

I would encourage people to try the iphone. I think I have a pretty good feel for what iOS has to offer because I had an iPod touch, and currently have an iPad.

Yes, I feel that people who say they refuse to use the iPhone because "everyone has one" are close minded as well.

so my random outburst of posts will have to come to an end I have to get back to work.....but i wanted to express my sudden excitement since it seems Thursday could be the day.....I will be lurking nonetheless

Costco Kennesaw GA has one on the kiosk display counter but the reps say "I Dunno when, gee, sometime this or next week"?

I agree. Unless you already know that the movie offends your moral standards. I have no problem with people refusing to watch rated R movies because of excessive violence or sexual stuff, especially if their kids are accompanying them.

And I'll never watch "The Birth of a Nation", regardless of whether anyone thinks it's a technically excellent film, like Roger Ebert does.

Believe it or not there are actually people out there (like me) who have used both an iPhone and an iPad and still find them to be useless. We don't all dislike the iPhone because "everyone has one". For some of us, a tiny screen and outdated OS is just not good enough.

So, around 10am CST, I started getting follow-up phone calls from Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Non-Corp regarding the Nexus releasing the 15th.

As I've called EVERY RS, BB, and VZW in the DFW area, I'm expecting many more if the 15th continues to gain momentum. :D

My 20% just went up to about 40/50%...

where is everyone from this thread moving to for random posts and whatnot....somewhere in the lounge I am assuming?
Come on man, I posted it right on this same page! :p
By the way, AFTER this thread comes to a close where do we all meet up again at? :D
Didn't you see my PSA before? :p
By the way, quick plug for everyone - come join the Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole thread in The Lounge! All the names you know, with all the off-topic antics you can handle. :D

I expect it's where everyone will be after this thread closes when the GNex finally launches, but it's open now! So come hang out. :)
