[Verizon] Verizon Factory Image

Yes, it is. Now we just need someone (Koush) to make a CDMA/LTE CWM. Dying to root this thing, but heard people are soft booting using GSM CWM

Yes they are. That was about to be my next question. I know its going to get asked and i don't know the answer.

How would we apply this factory img? Lets say from a bootloop/softbrick status?

Also there is an LTE CWM in the wild being tested. I assume it will be made official by the end of the day. Yes i read that also about softbooting the GSM version. Some people have said that the LTE TEST version has worked fine but i'm waiting till the make it official.

being that this is a samsung phone wouldn't we use odin?

i have not yet loaded it up on my dev laptop yet... i am still too busy playing with ICS.. :)

Honestly, this is my first Android device that isn't made by HTC so this is all new to me. I'm a bit confused because I have seen some people successfully root using the GSM CWM and others brick

Who made the LTE CWM, Koush?

added to the ROM/THEME list

EDIT:
I unstuck this thread as we can only have 5 stickies per page allowed so it doesnt clutter up the forum

i did this because trophy's video of unlocking the bootloader was more important than this thread, and i have already included this in the Theme/ROM list, i felt the other important messages needed a place up here.

Thank you worm for this discovery.

With a device like this, which is going to have a very active dev community around it in no time, I'd suggest that a "Root Guide" master sticky is the way forward. All info in one place, easily found and updated as required by Mods and Guides etc.

Frisco asked i restick it and ask worm what he would rather do. and if he wants it to stay then he will find a way around the 5 sticky thing

You guys (Frisco) can keep this stuck if you think it will be of use. Whatever you think is most appropriate is fine by me :)

I believe you have to run this from your PC, like a RUU for HTC devices. However, this being my first Sammy device, I'm not 100% on that.

Also, updated the OP to the 4.0.2 system image :D

Ya, that is what I thought. This is also my first Samsung device, so I guess my questions should have been: What "program" do we use to install this? (equivalent to RSDLite for Moto devices)

I fixed my issues so I don't need to anymore, but still curious for future reference.

I'm not really sure. If I find out I'll post back in here. Hopefully someone who knows will come in and verify how to use it

[side note].. there are enough stickies (trying to hold it to just 5 per forum), so bumping to keep this thread noticed. ;)

Can someone help me get this back on to my phone? I unlocked with adb-fastboot, and I can't get past the google and unlocked icon screen. I'm using a Mac if that helps anyone with helping me.

Thanks I'm kind of a noob with my Mac and Nexus

So you did the "fastboot oem unlock" command? After that you haven't been able to get past the splash screen (google logo with unlock icon)?

Have you pulled the battery and tried powering it back on?

I did, I just let it roll through that screen for about half an hour and just pulled the battery, same thing again.

Goes to the splash screen, and resets itself back to the splash screen...over and over.

thoughts?
