I would say - just expressing frustration - not whining. We are all a bit frustrated with VZW, and pretty much are aware of our options .... just sayin ....

Okay, I feel better nowgeez, chill
According to what Vodafone's president said, most of their partners are getting the desire, and because Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon, I think we see some promise. I am still on the theory that the Incredible is Verizon's version of the Desire. HTC's products manager said that networks work to make a phone theirs (in other words "looks"). So, I think we can stop worrying about RAM. Really, do you think they are going to release it with that much RAM? Tech noobs would think it was too slow.
I'm not saying that they control VZW. I never said that. What I'm saying is that VZW must have made the decision on their own. Vodafone was saying that because a record number of their partners are getting the desire on their own terms; they never said that they were forcing their partners to.Vodafone makes no say in Verizon's operations, despite the stake. In fact, I remember reading that Verizon is looking into buying out Vodafone's stake. Add to that Vodafone is GSM. There's really zero influence or decision making coming from across the pond. The fact they're getting the Desire means little to us.
Like everyone else, patiently waiting.... Has anyone tried taking advantage of Buy One Get One deal to fund the N1 / Incredible when it comes out? I'm eligible now, but waiting for N1 or Incredible. Can i upgrade to Droid at $199 and use the BOGO to get 2. The second would have to go on a new secondary line @ $9 a month + $30 data. If i then sell the 2nd droid on ebay and put an old phone that line, i should be able to take off the data plan. So that's $9 committed for two years = $240. But the Droid sale should net around $400. That plus selling the second Droid when N1 comes out should more than fund the N1 at full retail? Would that work?
They most likely did have an agreement to promote the Droid over other phones for a certain length of time. But that time has come and gone most likely. Going by the timeline that came out during the holidays the Droid launch push was November 5th to December 26th.
Verizon Holiday Publication Promotes Droid | Android Phone Fans
The more time that passes the more I'm convinced something happened that messed up Verizon's plan and I'm starting to think that what happened was that they got screwed by Google. Go back to their partnership announcement. This was in the press release "Integral to this agreement is a commitment by the companies to devote substantial resources to accelerate delivery of leading-edge innovation that will put unique applications in the hands of consumers quickly. The two industry leaders will create, market and distribute products and services, with Verizon Wireless also contributing the breadth of its nationwide distribution channels. Consumers will be able to purchase products resulting from the collaboration in Verizon Wireless retail and online stores.". Now the first act after the partnership was the Droid launch (though Google only really having to do with the Droid and not much with the Eris). But what was the second act? Google decides to sell the best Android phone, the Nexus One, online from Google only. Yes it will come to Verizon later. But I find it hard to believe Verizon went into this thinking "We'll have the best Android phone for 2 months, then Google will sell the best phone all by themselves and then we'll launch 2 not quite top of the line phones while another top of the line phone from HTC comes out to other carriers first" and thought it was a good deal. I just haven't seen much come from this partnership and I don't think its because of Verizon.
I'm sure that we don't need to worry about RAM. The person that had the phone clearly didn't know much about it, and do you really think he took the time to figure out the RAM? I'm still confused about where that is coming from.
I also agree with that. However, I think releasing the N1 on TMo only was part of their plan of getting a feel for how things would go as far as problems and selling the phones themselves. We all know about the extreme troubles Google has faced with their customer service side of their sales. Had the N1 originally been released on Verizon I cannot imagine the horror of the customer service that customers would have had to face. So in my opinion, to go small scale at first with TMo was something they purposefully did to get some if not most of the kinks and problems worked out.I agree 100%. When the N1 was released they had the whole press confrence for it and said they wanted a new place available online so you knew where there best android phones where (slap in the face to all the other android phones that where already released) then they say Verizon will get the phone several months after we have let T-mobile have it (another slap in the face to Verizon) and then we are sorry but if you cant wait for the N1 go to Verizon and get the Droid (slap in the face again) Why couldn't they have added the Droid to there website? Yes i know there is a link on there page so you can get re directed to Verizons site but not sell it on there page? it is an awesome phone just not one i want
Well we did learn he very likely worked for Sprint. And he INSTANTLY looked up what version of Android it was using. I would not be hard for me to believe that he very well could have took time to look up the RAM. Especially if he knew he was going to release the info he got to a website. I am certainly not saying that that makes the stated RAM valid, but makes it possible he would have tried to find it out. But I agree with most in that I dont see them releasing something with less RAM than whats on phones now.I'm sure that we don't need to worry about RAM. The person that had the phone clearly didn't know much about it, and do you really think he took the time to figure out the RAM? I'm still confused about where that is coming from.
The problem is there has not been any official news about the Incredible released by Verizon, it is all leaked information so we aren't supposed to know about it at all at this point.

I don't think they did. Mainly because why would they? Unless it was just a handshake agreement what did Verizon get out of it? Whatever money Motorola gave Verizon probably netted Verizon nothing after the ad campaign they put out. Didn't Verizon spend a million or so on that campaign?
It goes back to does Verizon actually care which phone they sell? Outside of getting something really new I don't think they do. Hence a Motorola Android device or a HTC Android device, 6 of one half dozen of another to Verizon.
I still think something got screwed up. Verizon was supposed to ramp up their holiday offerings with new device launches in the first 2 weeks of december and nothing happened.
The only agreement between Motorola and Verizon that may have led to this is that the Devour had to be the 3rd Verizon android device. Even then I doubt it. Though the redesign the Devour went through would explain why its coming out later then expected.
Okay, I feel better now

I'm curious... What is everyone's educated guess/theory on a possible release date for the Incredible. I'd like to know everyone's thinking on it. I'm honestly thinking that it will release in April and I'm thinking that if Verizon showcases the HTC Incredible at CTIA, which starts March 23rd in Las Vegas, then they'll release the full official specs, design, software, and let all of the tech guys play with it just like HTC did with the Desire and Legend a week ago. So, if that's the case, I can see them letting the interwebs go crazy about the phone and hype it for them and then possibly release it a month later. I'm thinking it may release either April 20th or 27th.
I am forgetting at the time being, but don't Verizon phones release on Tuesdays? I was thinking that was right, but I may be wrong. Mykpfsu, I'm sure you know. Any input?
I thought that it was you that corrected me on the Vodafone making the announcement and not HTC. Anyway, I re-watched it and it and it was vodafone. What I am saying is that Vodafone did not force VZW to get the phone. VZW decided to get it on their own and therefore contributing to that statistic. You said Vodafone is getting the Desire and they own 45% of Verizon so there's some hope. But now you're saying Verizon made the decision on their own. I'm not understanding the connection you're trying to make here. Not trying to be condescending, I'm just not following. And what's this statement that Vodafone made? The record number of partners getting the Desire, I thought that was a statement that HTC made. How many partners does Vodafone have?
Wasn't over 600,000 sold the 1st month and add 30 dollar data plan on to that. 18 million dollars per month assuming this was all new data plans even at half would give 9 million dollars to the bottom line per month. I would assume they are above 1 million units now and with that being said the manufacture cost goes down with each unit.
Hahaha! So I make a comment, checking the author into the glass for not verifying his facts before he writes, so now my PUBLIC comments about his grossly inaccurate article (in which he mistakes the Eris for the Desire, and says it's coming to VZW) have been "hidden due to low comment rating!" You guys should all go there and boost my ratings so that this guy learns a lesson!![]()
Breaking: HTC Desire for Verizon NOT Confirmed, is NOT Verizon

Anyways, I'm thinking April will be when we see the Incredible. I don't think it will release later than that, but this is just speculation on my part. If the Desire is releasing in April, then it would make sense to release Verizon's "version" of the same phone (if that's even the case) in the same month. Verizon always tweaks their phones, i.e. Hero/Eris, just one example. So, it could make sense that the Incredible could be a modified version of the Desire with, perhaps, HD video enabled at launch.
So...yeah, I'm guessing April.
