Eris to v2.x, when?

NKT - have you noticed any reduction in lag on the phone screen, like when making a call and hitting the end button?

yea ive read a few articles about it, and thats what its lookin like. i at least hope so, that would be a great bday present for me VERRRRRIZON! OTA me please.:D

What was that about receiving The OTA in two weeks a few posts up? I'm assuming that is another rumour like 90% of everything else we've read so far. Except What NKT has shared, I have no doubt what he has shared so far is legitimate.

I know that on this board this approaches sacriledge, but in an attempt to apply some objectivity to the issue:

Do you really expect the release of a smartphone os upgrade to have such an impact on your life that it warrants you spending more than one minute per day checking on its availability?

You know, back in more enlightened days, things were alot clearer. Individuals who felt the need to speak heresy against the establishment were dealt with in, what was thought of then, a reasonable fashion.

They were usually branded a witch and then burned at the stake or stoned.

Of course, we have risen above such savagry in this point of history.

So, nothing to worry about. :o

I'm with you. I'm trying to have zero expectations about the upcoming release, and I still think it'll have trouble meeting them. I doubt it adds 2-3 more things that I will find useful. I could go to the market and find 20-30 useful apps without much trouble that are available right now.

unfortunatly you are probably right.
check out crackberry.com and you will always find the same thing there.
moving from 4.0 - 4.5 - 5.0 brought alot of excitment, but really didnt change alot.

fortunatly we probably wont have to wait as long for an android update as we did for blackberry updates.

so we shall see.

I tried both methods, embedded and image file. Neither display in the stock player. I did read somewhere that doubletiwst may be able to sync album art in a manner that will display in the stock player...

I'm trying Media Monkey as cmack suggested and it has fixed my problem for the current stock music player. Honestly this was one of my biggest problems with the eris to date. I'm glad it's resolved, but if 2.1 breaks it then I will probably downgrade to 1.6 and wait for root. Thank you for looking into this for me, I really appreciate it.

I think I speak for many people here when I say: Go Pound Sand!

If you honestly have a problem with people coming together to discuss something that beings them joy then don't come here. You don't have to read anything here to know about 2.1, just wait until you get the notice that a system upgrade is available and download it OTA. The rest of us enjoy speculating and discussing and simply interacting with others that share a common passion. Will 2.1 change our lives or bring some epiphany?... no, but we all know that. We still get enjoyment from a wonderful community of enthusiasts so kindly piss off.

Disrespectful posting and name calling will not be tolerated. Infractions have been issued to those who have done.

This thread is also slightly going off topic so lets get this back on track

Thank you

Response seems improved from 1.5. Don't know if it's because the phone is still relatively clean app wise or if it's 2.1.

It would seem that the only thing we know for certain on the timing of the release of 2.1 is that no one knows for certain the timing of the release. :(
