Help Micromax A70 General FAQ and Discussion

I am on hybrid 3 and I am facing a weird problem.
Whenever I charge my battery it doesn't go over 98%. Yesterday night I was charging my mobile, at 8pm it became 98% and when I checked back at 9:12pm it was still 98% charging. I tried wiping battery stats in recovery still no luck. It gets stuck at 98%.
Anyone has any solution?
I had the same issue when I was on Hybrid3,it stuck at 99% once..but simple restart solved my problem n never faced it again.

guys when im charging phone i can see lights on the soft buttons (home, search, back ).but when i removed from charging i cant see those lights.at nights in dark room am unable to find where is which key.so is there a way to switch on back-light of soft touch buttons?
Soft key lights come up only for few seconds when we use it,they don't remain on everytime but while charging they do so.

is there any way to keep them on as long as we want?
Don't know of adjusting timing for it(cm has hat option inbuilt we don't:() but u may be keep them always on or always off.
Give a try to Screen Filter app from market.
Try following on your own risk,I haven't tested it but it should work fine.
If u want to keep them always on/off then u need to modify a file in /sys/class/leds/keyboard-backlight/brightness. open this brightness file in texteditor n put 255 to always on or 0 (zero) for always off. save the file n change permissions to read only.(U need to be smart to do this cause if u tap on softkey meanwhile before changing permissions.)
OR u can directly change permission to r--r--r-- when softkey lights are off.this will make them off always.n same can be done when they are lighted up to keep them on always.
I will also try n let u know but till then u are on ur own responsibility.

EDIT:
I just checked it n it's working.
Now I will find something to adjust the timing,it will be better, right?

Whenever I edit that file and change it to 255 and then save it then it doesn't change and comes back to 0.
I changed the permissions to rw-rw-rw still it returns to zero. How to change it?

Well good u solved it(coz u r smart enough) but I will explain again little bit, this will help others so.
Just open permissions windows for that file n put it to read only(tick against r on 1st column only show it should show r--r--r--),now tap on softkey so value of the file will change automatically to 255,now while lights are on tap on ok to set permissionsit's done.
The same way if u want to disable softkey lights then make sure that lights are off while u save permissions n u r done.

Another simple way is to copy that file to sd card, change the value to 255 and replace it again with the original one and set permissions to r--r--r done!
Same way to turn off it.

Old market working ok.

Clock not synchronized with provider.mine is bsnl. Checked settings as told earlier.

Installed clocksync. Synchronized with atomic clock. Precise to 0.001 second. Atleast time is ok

Hello,
I am using Micromax A70 since 2months.. After a lot of search over net, I found that Z4root can be used to root this phone.
Well, I rooted my phone using Z4root. Then, installed ROM Manager as advised in this forum,Did flash recovery and then when I tried to boot into recovery mode to partition memory card, I get only Android logo and mobile hangs there only. I don't get any options and have to remove battery and restart it. I tried all the options suggested earlier in other post like flashing to an older version of CWM,selecting other similar phone, reinstalling ROM manager, etc. ,but all in vain. I had earlier installed script manager and tried to run V6 super charger just after rooting phone, but it was not successful. I have removed script manager now but after that also I am not able to boot into recovery mode.
I keep my mobile in USB debug mode.
Please suggest some ways..
thanks

You can root your a70 using z4root app.google it to get it
For backing up stock ROM you need to install clockwork mod recovery using ROM manager.

Run Z4ROOT as a normal app and it will ask you for temp root or permanent.Select permanent here, the phone will restart and u will get superuser app in apps list.

For clockwork mod. install ROM MANAGER from market, Run it and select flash clockwork mod recovery, it will download the files(Time to download depends upon your internet speed) and will restart upon flashing. Now to go to clockwork mod recovery hold the POWER BUTTON and VOLUME DOWN BUTTON while powering on your device. It will start with recovery now. Select BACKUP & RESTORE, in that you can backup your current ROM.
The backup will be saved in the folder of CLOCWORKMOD in the root of your SD CARD.. .. .. .. ..

HIT THE THANKS BUTTON, IT WILL COST NOTHING. TRY IT..

Yes you can use custom ROM without rooting.
@samrox144
Recovery has nothing to do with root access, so the custom ROM also has nothing to do with root access.

But all the rom's here are pre-rooted.....yes u can install rom without root access but u'll get rooted wen u flash ROM :P

after rooting, whats are the things(mi roamer, saavan etc) need to be removed from A70 to make it perform much better?please suggest me.
