Swype avail for Eris

Ah yes! Upgraded from the 2MB version, and this does seem to work better. Although the biggest improvement is that it automatically unchecked the "Word Prediction While Typing" box which had pissed me off so much before. Guess it had been within my power to fix that all along.

I also really like the text editing screen. Makes me wanna work on spreadsheets!

The app is gonna take some getting use to but i think i can handle it. In fact im using it right now. The capitalization could be issue though.

Man, it is worth getting used to! I've been using it non-stop since this thread started, and haven't even considered going back.

i dont think you can just decompile an apk by converting to zip and extracting....i would be happy to be wrong about that though.

You can use WinRar to open up apk files and view the data files and folder structures... the key is figuring out what you want to remove, and what the program needs. hmm...

Well damn. Didn't know I had the beta since it was over 7 megs.

Can someone email me the newest file @ tlucidot @ gmail . com

Thanks

I just got and installed the latest version 1.16.12.5230t...It doesn't have all the options..and after installing ends up being 12 meg. ..I also have the 7meg. and the cut down one of the 7meg...The 7 seems to have all the options and runs the smoothest which ends up 12meg. From what I see all end up about 12meg. up and running...

there are optimized versions of the 1.16 version, with english only, optimized images, no pics one with and without the tutorial. its down to 1MB before install.

For those of you who wish to reduce the version you have, just open the apk file with any zip/rar app like WinRar and remove the files you dont use in the folders. The Spanish help file, and other language packs are easily removable.

Or just find it on the net and grab the already reduced version.

The version I'm using says 0.35.3959. Can someone email me the latest version? tgale67 at gmail dot com

Edit: I'm now running 1.16.12.5230.t - The download was 5mb, obviously not optimized. Still would like an optimized one.

Just installed it and I really like it. Just edited the settings to make it faster vs more accurate and it really does seem more smooth and accurate then typing before.

Word by word is a lot easier than letter by letter. :)
Good practice for drawing and Chinese characters too. Hehe.

Ok i tried following the instructions, i downloaded the APK to my desktop (i am currently without my USB cable) and emailed it to myself. I opened the email and it only has a preview button for the attachment so i clicked on it and after 3 minutes of "fetching attachment" it said unable to parse package. I also could not find it using Astro so i am guessing it did not download, any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and it was the new 7MB version.

I've had trouble getting the file to work using email. I always get the Parse Error.
Downloading it directly from the web on the phone works fine. The address is a few posts up.

I don't really know. I grabbed this one because it was the only one I could find. Seems to be working fine for me.

I downloaded and installed this version and must say that it is better than the 1st and 2nd version. lol. It auto-capitalizes after a period and that annoying box doesn't pop up when typing new words. Thanks for the tip!

Definitely one of the coolest apps out there and it actually works, everytime i swype ;) with it i expect it to throw in some crazy word i had no intention of typing but it has yet to do so.

the mail app, not gmail, allows me to save attachments to the SDCard. Then I just browse to the file and open it in the package manager.
