Root No slider on lockscreen!!!

Lol, ok. I have a thread in rooted section about this from earlier if you need some back story. I screwed up moving something to the sd even though i am partitioned, it messed up my voice mail widget o i tried to move it back to internal, then my slider disappeared on reboot. Lockscreen shows wallpaper and top menu bar, still getting messages and all but, can't unlock/open phone. Now for the extra screwy part, tried to restore nandroid, recovery not seeing sd card but, flash screen is showing contents. I have pulled battery and reformatted card, still nothing. I was contemplating reinstalling recovery.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am so gonna upgrade my sd card when i get this straight.

Have you tried just wiping Cache and dalvic to see if that brings back your slide? What about just reflashing the rom instead of trying to do a nandroid. Wipe Cache, Dalvic, and reflash.

Like I said, this learning curve is killing me.

Can i just copy/paste the nandroids i want back to the card or do i have to grab everything?
yes you can move nandroids backups by copy and pasting.
Nothing is working, I can see sd card from flash menu but, recovery saying it cant access. Should I try to reinstall the recovery?

If so, what should i wipe b4 flash if all i'm flashing is recovery?

so do you see the nandroid backup in recovery? at what point does it say that it can't access the card?

No dice, same result. So frustrating!!! I can hear texts coming in but, i can't open my phone!!

well unfortunately at this point the best suggestion i have is to wipe everything and reinstall. I would make a nandroid backup even though you cannot use it for recovery maybe you can use it to help recover some of the stuff your inevitably going to loose.

moved and merge the two threads together.

what rom did you flash? what did you wipe before flashing it? did you make a nandroid backup? please give a detailed explanation as to what you did and what is happening now so that we can further assist you.

I flashed MikG 3.0, Amon ra, Anthrax. Everything was great until i did a manual move of user apps through TB (I know now not to!!) So, I have tried formating sd card, wiped cache and Delvic, re-flashed rom, kernel and tried a different recovery with the same result, the phone appears to be fine with the exception that the slider and widgets are absent from the lock screen. It rings if you call it, still notifying me of texts and emails, top status bar with clock and battery.
So, I'm thinking of going to buy a new sd card and starting over. I do have two nandroids, one with just rom and another with rom and kernel. My question would be is when i transfer data to the new card, will just the nandroid contain all the system info i need or do i need to transfer ALL the sd contents AND the nandroids?

I thought about that but, i thought why would i want a backup of something that isn't working?? I do have some previous nandroids when life was better, it will just be missing some new apps, no biggie there.

Not in recovery, that's when it says it can't access card. If i want to flash a new zip, then i can see everything like normal....I even tried a different version of amon, same result.

Have you tried to completely wipe everything except the sd card and flash a different Rom?
I would go to the roms and kernels download sticky and get the latest rooted stock Rom, and flash that alone, no kernels. See if it'll boot up normally.
I'd link you the rom, but I'm on my phone. :(
At this point its worth a try with stock everything just to get you a working phone. If that doesn't work, try the new sd card.
If that's not it, we'll attach about 5lbs of C4 to it and blow it to pieces! I'm just kidding. LOL ;) Just trying to ease some of your frustration. :)
We'll get it working one way or another.

That will be my last option, there's no work today so I'm good for awhile without phone. I needed a sd card upgrade anyway, so....we'll see.

+1 to this. Wipe cache and dalvik and then flash the ROM again

This is a very weird one, never saw this exact situation before.
Let us know when you get the new card, and try the flashes.
Hopefully we won't have to pull out the ruu and completely start from scratch. :(

It would have to happen to me.

Don't think we would need to Ruu it. If he wipes it that should solve his issue. He basically tried to manually move apps instead of using dt to do so. I love TB its the snizzle. However I would not choose it to move apps to my sd card thats what dt is for.

Asking simple questions can keep us from doing dumb things.

Ok, I'm back. New sd card, formatted and partitioned. Transferred contents to card, go into recovery and backup/restore STILL saying it can't open directory!!! Yet, in flash mode, contents are right there.

Any clues???

Try going to mounts and unmount the disc then try to remount the disc and see if that works. If not then try to reflash recovery.

Ok everybody, your fav noob here...After much fretting my phone is back in business!! I threw in the towel and reflashed MikG 3 and phone is back. Still questioning recovery, but, whatever.

I did notice quickly that at the beginning of the white screen, is it common to say image not found or something of that nature? that moment is so fast i couldn't tell what it was saying.

ok that last part is when you get into the bootloader. the bootloader is programmed to search for a certain file name (PC36IMG). if that file is not on the card then it will say no image or wrong image. that is very common so i would not worry about that. also mikg has the 4 in 1 reboot option. when the phone is on long press the power button and then select restart. a pop up window should appear with options of what you want to restart into. it should be normal(reboot), hot restart, bootloader(hboot), and recovery.

do you have a link to the file? also at the bottom of the recovery it should say RA-supersonic 2.3
