Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Blood, awesome ROM and upgrades! I do seem to have one problem with the 3.3. I just installed it and restored all my stuff. My problem is, I performed a speed test on WIFI and is 35ms 411kbps down 2654kbps up; 839ms 257kbps down 103 kbps up on 3G. Before switching from GB to CT, I was pulling 21ms 13089kbps down 7385kbps up on WIFI and 198ms 806kbps down 507kbps up on 3G from this exact location and time. Any ideas? Before the switch, I did also have that 4vg mod but that should not effect my WIFI speed.

^^those were averages over 10 pulls PLEASE HELP!!

maybe the server location is different
Mine is 33ms 10mb/dl 5mb/ul

I did something wrong when moving the apk into the zip, I got it working this time, thanks.

Yeah, long press works, but before just tapping worked, oh well maybe you'll bump into something later.
 
hey! Bloodawn, first of all I'd like to thank you, outstanding work men, great ROM. The 3g tweak(##3282#, msl number, 0.0.0.0) you know still available in CTMod 3.3? installing sprintandroidextension.apk will do the trick? if so, how can I get it? because I download the Removedapps.apk twice but still cant find it.

Don't get me wrong but I think 3g speed used to be faster, in my case of course.

sprintandroidextension.apk is already in the rom, and it doesn't have anything to do with that anyway.

the rom doesn't support hiddenmenu anymore so you can't do that tweak atm
 
i can use va supercharger and kak tweaks with this rom and kk2.2 with no harm no foul?

DUDE! i didnt notice it right away but it is true about the 3G speeds.
i used to atleast get 200-300 KB/s (used to be up to 1.5MB)
now im getting this:
KB/S
(im getting full bars too)
 
LOL , it would be nice to get full signal . On a good day , I only get three bars where I live . Heh , at least I get signal though . I get more bars than a lot of some people do . My signal is actually not bad at all considering where I live and there being only one tower in the area . As long as I run the EJ06 modem , I get decent 3g also .

I'm surrounded by four towers. Lolz.
But I'm getting low reception I guess. Been installing modern drivers and everything on toy PC. (I reinstalled windows into 64bit version so everything got erased. XP hopefully it'll bump the do speeds back up.)
 
I switched my Prevail from running CTMod 2.4, WM7 to CTMod 3.3, KK-2.1, W/BlueME a couple days ago.. an Blood.. MANY THANKS!!

U R Da Man! Awesome job!

The flash went flawlessly, Installing the theme was a breeze, as was putting back all my apps and sms / contacts.

I have been using it for a few days and I haven't found 1 glitch.

The only think I cant do that I would like to do to make this ROM complete for me, is to be able to change my PRL. I drive truck over the road, and it is a big help. I have tried the [SCRIPT]DM for CM7 v1.2[UPDATE 2/10] but I cant get CDMA WS to connect to my phone. There are some issues with the older Prevails I guess, but lMonsterl is working on it, and I have patience :eek: lol

Ok i installed 3.3 and i wanted to theme it but where do i find them or do i have to make them, i liked the blue one that was on 2.3 lol
 
Can we flash themes over themes? As in just run another theme.zip after already running a previous theme.zip in CWM?

Curious... apologize if this has been asked a few hundred other times before. :)

Any chance you could tell me what those files are for?

My 3g is so sporadic I get anywhere from 50-800kbps depending on if it's sunny, windy, what kind of mood my gf is in or if I took a crap at the right time in the morning. JS

like you said, your speed will still change depending on alot of things

S10cleaner removes cache, tmp, and unused files

S11cleanup cleans init ram

i dunno which one is causing the problem cause I didn't have much time to test it this morning but i removed both and 3g seemed to do better in speedtest

a root explorer type app

the file manager that comes with the rom might work but it seems to have trouble deleting system files sometimes
 
I downloaded root browser app from the google store, deleted the S10 and S11 not sure if it made a difference or not, I might just have a bad signal right now.
 
I first want to thank everyone who has put in their time in to bringing the things that make the Prevail better, such as CTMod.

I recently updated to 3.3 and to make things short, while I was restoring apps using Titanium Backup, Link2SD was failing at linking the apps to the EXT4 partition on the SDCard. I've already heard that no one uses L2SD anymore and there are better alternatives. However, as you can imagine, I do not know of any of these alternatives. Forgive me for my ignorance, but I was still using ShabbyMod when pretty much everyone had moved on to CTMod or an unofficial port of CyanogenMod. I had not found the time to try out CTMod until recently and I was very happy to have switched and regretted not having found the time earlier. I had been using Shabbymod running on Froyo previously which was f****** annoying due to constant freezes and crashing on my phone.

Main Points:

  • What are the alternatives to Link2SD on CTMod 3.3?
  • Needless to say, the prevail has very little internal storage, thus I need a replacement for Link2SD.
  • Titanium Backup would restore 1-2 apps then say it was still Restoring but several minutes would pass and it would still be on the same app. Is this a bug with CTMod, is it a problem with Titanium Backup, or could have it been due to Link2SD (Note: The problem persisted even after I turned off automatic linking on Link2SD)


In advanced, I appreciate the time anyone takes to read and respond to my post.
