Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I recently updated to 3.3 and to make things short, while I was restoring apps using Titanium Backup, Link2SD was failing at linking the apps to the EXT4 partition on the SDCard. I've already heard that no one uses L2SD anymore and there are better alternatives. However, as you can imagine, I do not know of any of these alternatives. Forgive me for my ignorance, but I was still using ShabbyMod when pretty much everyone had moved on to CTMod or an unofficial port of CyanogenMod. I had not found the time to try out CTMod until recently and I was very happy to have switched and regretted not having found the time earlier. I had been using Shabbymod running on Froyo previously which was f****** annoying due to constant freezes and crashing on my phone.

Main Points:

  • What are the alternatives to Link2SD on CTMod 3.3?
  • Needless to say, the prevail has very little internal storage, thus I need a replacement for Link2SD.
  • Titanium Backup would restore 1-2 apps then say it was still Restoring but several minutes would pass and it would still be on the same app. Is this a bug with CTMod, is it a problem with Titanium Backup, or could have it been due to Link2SD (Note: The problem persisted even after I turned off automatic linking on Link2SD)

i dunno which one is causing the problem cause I didn't have much time to test it this morning but i removed both and 3g seemed to do better in speedtest

Whats a good app to back up texts? My gf and my sister have text me and i need to keep the texts in there name when i put CTMOD 3.3 back on, i flashed looked at it a bit and then flashed back to 2.3 to collect my stuff i left behind

The flash went flawlessly, Installing the theme was a breeze, as was putting back all my apps and sms / contacts.

I have been using it for a few days and I haven't found 1 glitch.

The only think I cant do that I would like to do to make this ROM complete for me, is to be able to change my PRL. I drive truck over the road, and it is a big help. I have tried the [SCRIPT]DM for CM7 v1.2[UPDATE 2/10] but I cant get CDMA WS to connect to my phone. There are some issues with the older Prevails I guess, but lMonsterl is working on it, and I have patience :eek: lol

The ROM and theme are packaged separately

The ROM is Bloodawn's CTMod 3.3 which you can find on the first page of this thread.

The Theme is J6Remy's BlueME for CTMod 3.3 which is here,

The Gator Clock widget and the Wallpaper (which is live wallpaper) can be found at the market, but you will also need to install the live wallpaper apk to use it.

this is a really good rom, the only problem is that when i try to record an audio a thing pops up saying "Sorry! the app messaging has stopped unexpectectly please try again" i tried again and it keeps happening .

Sounds like the app iz incompatible, or wasn't installed right.try another app.
All my recordin apps work great.
 
Blood found interesting data on the 510 511 (AKA s10 s11) files

4 nothing installed(Top)

Note: For #2 the servers went whacko, LA servers were no longer popping up. the speeds increased though.

Note: For # 3 LA servers were back, my speeds went up even higher!

Note: For #4 Strangely LA servers stayed.slightly lowered my speed (increased uload by a lot)

Hey rarewolf you keep referring to them as 510 and 511 but what I think you mean is S10 and S11.

In any case judging from your picture it looks like removing the two files actually made things worse. Hmmm quite interesting.
 
i installed CTMod 3.3 and i dont have my phone apps and internet icon infront of my phone anymore, anyone know what i did wrong???
 
So speeds will go up as long as one or the other s files are deleted but will go down if both are deleted, am I reading that correctly?

I get it now, I deleted just the s10 and seems to be working.
 
Ok first thing is first. WOW 75mbs free now with everything reinstalled. The only thing I am wondering about now is the internet problem you guys are speaking of. Im in michigan and pinging the closest town I get Pings: 444ms Download: 0.62Mbps Upload: 0.63Mbps. Good? Bad? I use wifi tether alot and will be even more soon.
