Don't worry about it. I know how easy it is to forget stuff, especially how exciting the last couple days have been, what with Overclocking and such thanks to trenchkato

I do have one question with the speedtest app. I have it set to a Chicago server and I am getting 181 pings and now 0.81Mbps download and 0.57 Mbps upload. Im in michigan right now but my phone is for florida. should I choose a server in florida or in michigan or what? Im confused on this part.

normally you choose a server that is physically as close to you as possible

Ok this is weird. I turned on my wifi tether and connected my computer and then did speed test from on here and it did 1.20Mbps download and 0.15Mbps upload. Why is it going faster threw the tether than it is on the phone itself?

Your computer doesn't include moving data round internally to make space for more data to download in it's calculations :)

also, packet size can play a big role in data rates. If the phone app is using smaller packets, it has to send more of them to get the same amount of data through. This means data + packet header + routing info, etc which becomes uncounted data.

the RFCs for TFTP have some interesting information in them about this,

RFC2348 said:
As was anticipated, the transfer time decreases with an increase in
blocksize. The reason for the reduction in time is the reduction in
the number of packets sent. For example, by increasing the blocksize
from 512 octets to 1024 octets, not only are the number of data
packets halved, but the number of acknowledgement packets is also
halved (along with the number of times the data transmitter must wait
for an ACK). A secondary effect is the efficiency gained by reducing
the per-packet framing and processing overhead.

Of course, if the blocksize exceeds the path MTU, IP fragmentation
and reassembly will begin to add more overhead. This will be more
noticable the greater the number of gateways in the path.

*Ref: RFC 2348 - TFTP Blocksize Option

Ah I see. Thanks.

Pretty much anything that triggers the GPS. Instead of the GPS turning on when the applications needs it, it never does. In fact every app that I had that used GPS hasn't been able to trigger it to turn on.

One of the last things I did was try my usual GPS fixes on a new install. (This was on my second attempt). I used FasterFix to change the gps pool. Then I used GPS Fix to improve my fix location.

Now usually these programs work. However none of them triggered the GPS. Not even Google Maps, navigation, or even Places triggered it. I tried rebooting the phone several times. I double and trippled checked to make sure the gps settings are on. Nope nothing. In fact it's the same issue that the other guy is getting.

When I switched back to FA19 stock my GPS worked fine. I thought my hardware for GPS died but thank god it didn't. Finally, I did a fresh ODIN to FA19 and preloaded my CM7 restore. Once again my GPS worked fine.

The only time I ever experienced this issue was with trying to get CTMOD 3.3 to work. I've never had this issue with previous versions of CTMOD.

I've had the same problem & symptoms. Tried FA19 w/ EJ06 baseband, still no GPS...

Got a question for you Blood. Can I use your APK installer to add edited APK's just by adding "media' "framework" and "fonts" to the system folder in the zip or do I have to change any thing else in there before it will install to those directories? Or could I just uses your WP7 Simple Blue as a base to do the same thing?

you can use the ApkInstaller.zip for anything you want to flash as long as you add the right folders to system

@Bloodawn: Yeah I've tried it a few more times and it seems to be a problem with Odin to FA19 and CTMOD 3.3. The GPS stops working for some reason. I gave it a whirl last night a few more times. I still couldn't get it to work. Kourma mentioned to switch to another baseband instead. I believe Tank2211 from (http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/518864-gps-stopped-working.html#post4119642) had to end up doing the same thing. Seems to be some sort of driver issue. Like I mentioned before this didn't happen with previous versions of CTMOD even with FA19 installed.

I posted another response a few posts before if you need more info:

I've switched back to CM7 for the time being. I will give it a whirl again when my sister stops by with her phone. I have better luck testing it with two phones ;)

thats weird bro

works for me on FA19 and for my bro on EJ06

dunno why its not working for you

Its not an app. its what comes with the phone when your on messaging and try to add an attachment which im trying to add an audio. b4 i installed ctmod it worked fine.

I hate to add to the bug report, but my GPS also doesn't respond. I thought it was OK earlier but when I turn off WiFi and just use the GPS, no apps can find it.

I'm using TeleNav GPS Navigator that Bloodawn supplied us in the “removed app” zip. It seems to be working well for me. I do like this better then Google but that’s just my opinion. Of course nothing can replace my garmin yet :).

EDIT:
What gps app are you guys using? I wouldn’t mind trying different ones out as long as its free and legal.
