Root [CWM][ROOT][RZR] Root & Recovery AIO - UPDATED 2-19-2012

After updating to ZVD, I found myself in trouble quickly. (yep... it's a long story)
After reading thread after thread, I re-discovered this one, and out of frustration and desperation, I came to the conclusion that I had nothing left to loose at that point.

I don't know if it's been posted here or somewhere else already (and if it has I'm sure some of you will laugh at my n00bness)... but for the sake of my fellow n00bs out there that may be stuck in the same boat that I was - I used this root/CWM install method on the stock ZVD and it worked flawlessly. (well, for mine anyway... another Esteem's mileage may vary)

I'm rooted once again, BUT I also have a recovery to rescue me - just in case. NOW I'm happy. ;) Let the flashing begin once again! lol
Thank you SO much PG! (again, and again... and no doubt many times in the future)

Man this forum rocks. lol

Thanks Annie. I didn't want to try it untill I had confirmation.

Ok, so I just used the AIO to root (option 1) my Esteem (not root & recov).
Now I have no sound, vibrate, or speech recog.
What now?!?
I don't want to wipe the internal SD or my external SD as I have lots of stuff in there.
What are my options? Thanks!

Oh, and I used Root Check Basic to check success it says "Sorry, this device does not have proper root access".

I just unrooted (option 4) via AIO and after the final reboot, I got 'em back.
But I would like to root my phone.
Ideas?

Here's the unroot screen, note; I had similar errors when doing the root (I could repeat the whole process if you need to know where the root errors occurred.

This is the same problem I had (in the post above yours).
But I didn't do a wipe, I just did the Un-Root and I got the sound back.

Thanks for the welcome.

CalBigGuy is ZVB ;)
Just an FYI Bri...I don't post/share anything prior to testing it...why create more problems for the ATEAM to fix :)

CWM.doc - File Shared from Box
As shown in the doc above..RUN the cwm_windows_install...shoud root and install recovery

OK, so I ran the CWM bat file and I have successfully rooted with sounds workings.
However, and this is just an FYI because everything appears to be working, I did notice the following errors while the bat file was running:

[*] Installing root tools...

rm failed for /system/bin/su, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/xbin/su, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/app/Superuser.apk, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/xbin/busybox, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/tmp/su, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/tmp/busybox, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/tmp/Superuser.apk, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/etc/install-recovery.sh, No such file or directory

rm failed for /system/recovery-from-boot.p, No such file or directory

rmdir failed for /system/tmp, No such file or directory

Should I be concerned about any of these folders not getting removed?
And Thank you a ton for all your help gbiggie!!! :D

edit:
I just checked and those folders are gone, so it must be an error in the batch file.

Are you sure you are rooted(Open your Superuser and go Preferences and update the binary)
Your welcome:D Just click that button;)

it just boot to recovery and i think i (wipe all) does that mea that my andriod os is gone too?

When in recovery go to restore and if there is a file(date) in there select it. If you did not make a backup you will see nothing there.

Remind me what is your version again(ZV-B-C-or D)

If the restore does not work we will go to plan B;):D
